TBH body mods (piercing at least) have been more in the mainstream for a lot longer than 8 years. Didn't things seam to take a huge leap forward back in the very early 90's with the jim rose sideshow, and what i would consider the one of the biggest influences in bringing 'piercing to the mainstream....mike pattons eyebrow ring. Since then its just been a competition to some to just go one louder and find the next kool thing.

Hi, I'm Gavin I'm 36 and i'm an alco.... sorry, just bought my 1st road bike. It's a langster but dont hold that against me :). I've not yet done any great amount of riding on it yet, but Im hoping this will help me get back in shape and give me a renewed enjoyment in riding.
I've been riding xcountry since getting my 1st mountain bike when I was 12 but have never felt the appeal of riding solely on road until I ran across this forum a year or two back. I was intrigued by the idea of a stripped down bike for all the benefits it gives, but due to illness and new spawn didnt have the funds to partake.
Thats now change for the better (still ahve the kids though ;)) so I've invested in a half decent steel bike and off I go.waffle over.

cheers for the replies guys, I've come to road bikes from mountain so this is all a bit new to me. I'd considered the width allready as I'm more familiar with wide risers, but as I'm towards the smaller end of the scale (5'7") I was considering the narrower bars.
tom....if you can post, I'm interested :)

I would suggest that as the contractor as caused the staining/damage that they should be the ones to make good. I would not suggest scouring or polishing yourself. And I'm not suggesting that you go screaming to them 'ooo ooo compensation please' with a beggar bowl, just suggesting that if you dont ask, you dont get. Of course if you bathroom is allready in a piss stained hovel like stat they'll probly tell you to FRO, but if its clearly a well cared for property, then they may just do the right thing.
