Agree with the helpful advice above. You're in the right place with a bike like that – has the potential to be a decent build on a nice frame – but you need to put in a bit of elbow grease first.
Spend an hour or two working on it: cleaning, degreasing, moving the levers, checking for damage etc. etc. Then put up some more detailed pictures and info and you'll have no problem getting a fair price for that (which you also need to decide).

Yep the aquila was a road frame and used slx tubing. Still a great bike though!

Well that was quick. Precisely 5 days after the dibs it's here in my arms, shipped from Hungary, and in great condition too. Thanks to Peter (bellabici), sounds like he has a lot more to offer the forum so future buyers can rest assured he's legit!

No need to apologise, I totally understand where you’re coming from. Bikes like this should never be split, the only reason why I asked was because I was saddened at the thought of losing my own which, similar to yours, had stayed in its original form since ’89 and still rides like a dream – that’s the same age as me and, quite frankly, in a lot better condition.
Like when a pet dies, you can’t just replace it with the same breed and expect nobody to notice. Maybe it’s time for me to move on and start something new...

I lost mine in April in a crash which was gutting, never thought I'd find one in this condition again. My groupset's still mint though, would you sell the frameset on its own? -

Possible noob question - I snapped a washer that I don't know the name of so can't find one to replace it. It's the one that sits on the other side of the dropout to the axle bolt. It protrudes on the back to allow a wrench grip and is corrugated/ridged on the side touching the dropout (to stop the bolts loosening?).
Never had to replace one before so never put a name to it. Any help appreciated!

Tried to ride them loose, but they've been wedged in since '82 and they weren't budging.Ended up losing patience so reached for a wedge and a hammer. Worked a treat. Will certainly try the methods above in future though (minus the lung full of metal filings maybe..)

Trying to remove the cranks&bb on an old frame, but the threads on the crank arms are fucked so can't use the conventional crank remover tool.
What else could I try? The cranks&bb will be going straight in the bind so don't mind if I have to damage them. Managed the same thing last year with a spade and a hammer, but just though I'd see if there was a more civilized way of doing things first..
