A nice friendly tournament. Thanks to all of the Sheffield guys and gals that sorted this out. Had some really nice games in the sunshine (and a fair few beers). Just heard that Chan, Chris and Lefty Chris won, so congrats for that. Loved beating Stoner and Co today. Can't really remember what happened yesterday but I am sure we beat them before. There is no way a 13yr old child could take the ball off of me on a polo court. No way. Red Deer pub was funny, especially the quiz, which I think me, Andre and Rita won if I am not mistaken. All in all a fun weekend. Thanks so much to Andrew for putting our team up in his nice apartment in the city. Look forward to seeing you all again soon. ENGERLAND!

Arriving in 15-ish minutes. Anyone at the courts?
Don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but the courts are within a sports centre and have to be booked and paid for. You can't just go in and play on them. The courts are booked for the weekend from 19.00 this evening. Won't be able to access them until then. There will be people at the site from about 18.30 tonight and then pick-up games begin at 19.00.

I don't know how it would sit with peoples budgets for accommodation, but a very convenient place to stay would be the Full Moon Backpackers Hostel. Not only is it very close to the courts, it is looking very likely that we will be having the Saturday night bash there. There is talk of them setting up special bike parking on site for us and providing catering. They can accommodate up to 70 people in various room sizes. http://fmbristol.co.uk/full-moon-backpackers-hostel.html £17.50 for the night.

but the real player of the day for me was Ady from bristol, his game has really changed and his hustle and play on the court was not only great, but very challenging to play against, nice one Ady!

Thanks Dan and the B'ham crew for sorting today out. Was a most enjoyable day. I agree with your last post Dan. It was good to play in a tourney without all the tourney hassle and waiting about.

Stabbath played brilliant btw, especially in the final. Well done to SoYo too for beating us 7 something. I am glad we were able to make you happy by handing you that win. Next time we play you, we will take it seriously and play our best ;-)

Thanks for a fantastic weekend to everyone involved in the mammoth task of putting on such a huge tournament. I have no idea how you coped, especially when the extreme weather hit on Saturday. I really liked how the groups were split into morning/afternoon/evening sessions. The venue was set up very well and as others have said, there were lots of spectators giving good feedback having never seen the sport before.

A big thanks to my team mates for the weekend Machine & Matt. You guys were great to play with and I think brought out the best in me, especially when we beat the Scots!

Finally, a hefty congratulations to Team Warin on their 13th spot. You guys were on fire and I am still hurting from when Alfie checked me into the boards!!!

I really hope I can get from Bristol to London in time to catch some of this on Friday. Damn jury service screwing me over. Come on Bristol girls!!! Whoop whoop!
