Haha not quite... it was a sturmey XRF-8 hub gear, designed for folders. Direct drive is in 4th gear so its effectively very high geared on a normal bike- hence the need for a small front chainring. It was a 32t chainring and 22t cog. It gave me a min of about 30-98 gear inches (might be wrong- just from memory)
Just as an aside, don't ever bother with one, it were shite.
I prefer drops.. i run a fairly high gear and i like to haul on the hoods out of the saddle.. we dont have many hills round me but what there is is short and steep! I've got Salsa Bell laps, nice and wide (46cm)
Hey i have a titanium version i may be looking to sell soon, flamingo pink/raw titanium and 2 speed, mint condition, 7 months old..... looking for at least £850 though....
