Just got strava so thought I'd have go at this - anti 1:08:18 (G) http://www.strava.com/activities/118613182
Is there a section for 'veterans', ie those who can still just about haul themselves around the park, but are way too confused to add a time to a list without screwing it up? -

Any recommendations for commuting/city use lights? A few simple requirements:
- Fit with rubber/silicon band so can be used on various bikes without faffing
-reasonably small - bright, but not retina-burningly so
-waterproof enough for London - good (or at least predictable) battery/charge life
- side visibility
- don't turn on in your sodding bag
- reasonably robust
-not cateye as they've failed me on several of the above

School trip, steaming hot day on a coach. Fellow pupil a few seats in front touching cloth, but too timid to ask the coach to stop. In what must have seemed like a great idea he decides to take a discrete crap, hoping no-one will notice. To compound this awful idea, looks around for a suitable container and decides an empty crisp packet should fit the bill nicely. Moments late the coach is filled with the foulest stench imaginable. While a crisp packet holds a reasonable portion of salty snacks, I now know that you can't get a more than a fairly small turd into one. he managed to cover himself, trousers, hair for Christ sake and the plush coach seat in shit. to neatly tie this anecdote in with the theme of the thread, if there is someone out there who thinks you can have an unnoticed shit into a crisp packet on a hot crowded school coach, there is a potential market for a second hand foffa at £500

Just asked in a couple of LBSs about cycle training. Admittedly a very small sample but neither seemed that clued up. One finally suggested I try the local council, fair enough, I suppose the other didn't offer any suggestions. I can't help thinking that if LBSs were more clued up (and even if they could not bring themselves to recommend it at least had a couple of leaflets) that it would encourage more people to take it up. Go on trainers, go and talk to the LBSs.
