Something to consider for day trippers (or anyone really) - if you got the car ferry from portsmouth to fishbourne, you'd be less than a mile away from the kite hill start point.
It's just round the corner from the passenger ferry terminal (catamaran) and takes about 15 minutes longer to cross, but it'd save you riding the 9 or 10 extra miles from ryde pier head to wootton and back. Passenger tickets should be interchangeable and you can get hot food and drinks on the car ferry for the way home.To add...make sure you get your ferry tickets before the day, wightlink now charge a £10 'booking fee' if buying from the ticket office

I'm a bit dim, hence the need for pictures or preferably a video, and a helping hand, if I'm going to have any success.
Step-by-step... here

I'm guessing the DH is related to them sharing the same carcass as the rest of the DH range. But everything about them points to jumping around on tarmac.
This, they have downhill written on them as they share the dual ply sidewalls of other downhill tyres such as the minion, high roller etc. I still wouldn't use them for DH though, not even 'urban DH'. Prefer having at least a bit of tread!

Received this from HilaryStone today, very pleased with it - much lighter and shinier than i thought!
Put some bits on it to see what it will look like - the wheels should give away my intentions - will be building this up for tri/tt purposes (ignore the bars/stem - these were to keep the bike steady while i was screwing the bb in...and to ride down the road! They will be replaced with something more tt orientated!)
Loving the sound of the disc already! Wopwopwopwop :)

It's a pool swim so no wetsuit, but trisuit and swimming cap should make a fair difference to the shorts i'm wearing at the moment! Luckily my brother is an ex-county/national level swimmer so i'll rope him along for some form training. The masters club is a good idea though, i'll look into that.
On a cycling note, think i'm finally used to riding on rollers, managed an hour non-stop yesterday with only a couple of "oh f--" moments

Just filled in the entry form for my first triathlon, decided to wait until i got a few weeks of training out the way first!
It's a sprint distance, 600m swim, hilly 35k ride and 7.5k run, bike and run's fine so far, just the swim beforehand i'm not looking forward to! Still got 8 weeks to go though so i'll have to get some pool mileage in!

My two barn finds, neither of which have cost me anything so far.
The first is a BSA Courier 5 speed, rides great if not a bit relaxed
The second is a Raleigh Cascade for the other half
Thought these would be a good start into fg/ss (didn't want to spend too much on something i know relatively little about!)
