assume you got it delivered to the allotment?
and yes @Monster1985 once I've managed to chat to some of the people on the allotment and find out good contacts i'll do that. Need to be wary of contaminated manure? Plan to make as much of my own as well but will just need a starting delivery 👍

yes, same, don't want it to become expensive but would like to get stuff growing this year. I can hack away at brambles with a small pair of secateurs and dig out roots with a fork.
Compost will be the main thing if I need to buy in some.
Keeping an eye out on FB for a shed and a manual mower in the mean time.

there were 20 free plots when I looked round mine (Merton council), think a lot of people that got them during covid have lost interest and are now too busy.
Just got the agreement signed and paid up my fees
Any tips for doing an allotment without a car appreciated - maybe its a sign to get a cargo bike

it didn't feel like a overwhelmingly large plot, there were full size 125sqm plots that were 90% brambles that I decided against..
There is more than enough plot for this year and can just take the rest of the year to get rid of the brambles.
Yes rhubarb, not much else, a plum tree on one edge but thats about it, pretty blank canvas.

Im tiling the small entrance area to our house
by my calculations the number of tiles width ways fits almost perfectly but will maybe leave a 10-15mm gap at each side. What are you supposed to do here, just grout 15mm each side? adjust spacing between each tile by an extra mm? (currently there is 5mm gap between each).
Its too small a gap that cutting a slither of tile would look odd but would a large-ish grout gap look equally weird?

Basically I am tempted to rip down all the gypsum and re-lime it
Quite a lot of work/money to not be 100% sure it will solve the issue tho
Here's a section of wall that also had a similar patch so I investigated. The lime(?) did seem damp under it, so beyond surface level condensation?? but then not surprising given any moisture has nowhere to go under the gypsum and concrete render on the external.

sorry to see the fox damage!
@ectoplasmosis was it you who was talking about an extractor fan that is in the loft, extracted out the roof, meaning you can have a much more powerful fan as you can't hear it in the room? Thinking of something powerful for the kitchen but hate the noise.
Maybe im making it up.
