First floor bedroom and single brick wall, so if there are pipes you know where they are. No wall ties either.
The brick feels dry so it seems like its just the lime plaster (if that is lime plaster) and then subsequently the gypsum is damp. Lack of breathability is I'm sure an issue, but why just this spot 🤔

Have a patch of wall that’s getting a bit of mold and damp looking so took off the paint and some of the plaster to investigate.
It’s on an external wall but nothing on the exterior would suggest a reason for the damp. Gutters are fine etc.
Does this look like gypsum skim coat over lime plaster? Could the moisture just be trapped behind and coming through at this point? (notice there is a crack in the plaster here too where it could slowly come through)

I get that you’re paying for something that will be delivered I just don’t think you should have to pay 6+ months in advance to get it.
Maybe I’d totally do it if I was in love with the watch and so maybe it was just a silly comment. Initial reaction was just that there are not many things I’d be willing to pay for with delivery scheduled for next year. They’re not a small indy or made to order brand that needs supporting in that way and maybe they could just release more.
But again, I totally get that if you were anticipating this watch the wait would be worth it and maybe the exclusivity would make it extra special
What point am I making? Who knows

Im using these, they're fine. I'm using the xl ones though as my attic has standing room so loads of height available.
The job has taken 6 months though as its both horrible to do (don't bother in this heat) and you discover hidden issues each time you remove a board/old insulation. Attic electrics redone and rotten joist replaced, now I just need to crack on..

ouch indeed, there is at least some of that you can DIY though if you wanted to save money, digging out the concrete, stripping the plaster , even re-plastering is doable (I did our hallway)
Not 100% sure sealing is required unless the wall is below ground level? I'd get a second opinion on that.. if the concrete is what was causing the dpc to be breached that could be the all the fix to the damp issues.
