Thanks @Retro_bastard - I have however now sourced some from elsewhere - Cheers!

I've just finished English Pastoral by James Rebanks. Also read his previous book A Shepherds Life, which I enjoyed and covers similar themes and topics.
Personally, I think he's got a good balance between the stereotypical strongly opinionated farming type, the nostalgia associated with the 'hard working type' that his father and grandfather represent and their relationship with the landscape around them.
If you are interested in the dynamic between farming and the countryside (in particular the Lake District), I can recommend. -
There's a fair old few - more luck than anything else I think. Lots patched up etc.
There was a wrangle with Land Rover about the patents a while ago, as they were thinking of providing new chassis through Land Rover Reborn, meaning that it was impossible to get a new one for a number of years. In the end LR decided not to do it and opened it up again to Richards and others.
I managed to get one before that happened - they have approximately doubled in price (£4k for one now) since I managed to get mine in 2012 though, which is pretty eyewatering. -

I have considered this - but spoke to a friend who is an Audi mechanic (and did a bit of googling) and some of the TFSI engine codes (1.8 & 2.0) from 08-10 has some notorious oil guzzling tendencies, especially after 100k. So I'm holding out for a 3.2 I think.
A shame as I really fancied an Allroad too. -
Hoping this is the right thread for this but looking for some inspiration on a ULEZ friendly estate for circa £7-8k. Just sold my S3 8L and I'm genuinely lacking in ideas. Don't want anything too old - think 2008ish the furthest I want to go back, want something vaguely quick too.
Current shortlist is:
Alfa 159 Ti tbi (couple on eBay I'm considering giving a call about)
A4 3.2 Avant (missed the perfect one in January on eBay, still fuming)
330/335i touring M sport (bit meh and nice ones don't seem common)Oh, and off my own topic but just to contribute a bit of aesthetics - this is my 53 80" Series One that I lightly restored a few years ago - my grandfather bought it in the late 50's, it sat in a hedge since the 70's and I, against the clock, managed to get it up and running in time to drive him to his 90th.

Hi @moocher - these looks great. I’d also love one on your next run if possible.

Long time lurker.
I picked up the lovely Lemond/Campag build from @spotter before Christmas - so, entirely bought not built bar some recent new 28's (switched the Jack Brown's onto the Eastway). However, I am completely besotted with it, it's such a dream to ride and just soaks up everything the bad roads of the North Downs has chucked at it so far.
Eastway is a bike I've had for ages and abused on the commute. Impulse purchased the zipps from @MechaMorgan last week as a treat and a quick spin on them at the weekend tells me it was a good shout.
Plans: try to avoid having them stolen - I'm moving to Amsterdam in a couple of months.
Also have a Giant Anthem X 2014, which is a beast - I am a heavy, unwieldy guy (100kg+) and this has torn around Bedgebury and other Kent haunts without a care. I've reluctantly agreed to let it go to a mate, before heading to NL.
