Seconded; Shifties were reminded last night that our valiant comeback was just a little too late in the season. We don't think our team play is where it should be yet, and we'd only be going though the motions on Saturday for the sake of seeing the season through, which none of us are that excited about.

Hi everyone

I'm involved with a group that's going to organize a week of group rides in London, like this one in Portland.

Does anyone know about liability insurance, or who's responsible for one of the riders if they get into trouble? How do the LFGSS rides operate, if someone got hurt on one of those, who would be on the hook?

If anyone has some sound/professional advice on the matter, let me know.

Hey beginners, come rep your favorite Peckham teams, tonight Newington 7 pm. Shifties (Tom/Lish/Mira) vs TPO (Dweeb-o/Nerdface/Loserton).

Anyone have a rule of thumb about mallet length? I'm about 5'9" and I think my current one is something like 92 cm. Feels fine but I'm not sure what I'm missing, eg if I would be better off with something longer/shorted.

I'm starting a new youth program in Hackney that teaches analytic thinking skills through bicycle repair. The goal is to foster the same sort of intellectual processes that are learned in school through hand skills. More on that here.

For purpose of comparison, I'd like to talk to a teacher (preferably someone who is involved with bicycles) about UK teaching objectives. If anyone is involved with teaching teenagers, let me know.

Good timing, tonight (actually, every Tuesday) is beginner's night in Peckham. See this thread. Just make sure there are other people signed up for the evening before you head over there.

That's not to say that you couldn't come to any other polo throw-in, it's just that you're guaranteed to get a loaner bike and mallet down at Peckham.
