Really nice day out there today, apart from a few too many cars slowing things down. Can't complain too much though, good ride.

I should mention that I have normally run the Halo Courier Berlin tyres at a minimum of 120psi to a maximum of 130psi (this was preferred for me). The over-inflation didn't harm performance of those tyres, but enhanced them. I would use 130psi on the rear only. The front I would run at anything from 100psi (dropping to 80-90psi when I forgot to check), to 120psi. I find that the halo Courier Berlin performs very well when slightly over-inflated. However, it is an individual experience, and I'd only recommend this sort of inflation levels for the heavier rider. The sidewalls on the Courier Berlin tyres are massively strong. Though I did have a sidewall blowout, I believe that it was from damage I had caused by taking a corner through glass shards. For a very light person, the Courier Berlin could be ridden when losing air, and nearly flat. The sidewalls are that strong.
Great advice. I had 3 'Oh, shit' moments on my way to work the other day riding with a Courier Berlin on the rear, just broke away when cornering. Scared the crap out of me, especially since I binned it 2 weeks ago when the rear slid out and tore up my knee, I rode home like a nervous schoolgirl.
Was ready to chuck the tyre away as I'd lost all confidence in it then I read this, went and checked the pressure. Whadda ya know was down to 100psi. Pumped it back up to 125 and rides like a dream again.

Carnage on the CS3 this evening about half 6. Dayglo nodder type sitting on the ground looking a bit sore and sad, surrounded by a small crowd of concerned onlookers. Fixie skidder type with d-lock in belt and beanie looking a bit sheepish, reluctantly apologizing. Reckon you might be on here. If you are, tell us a story.

What's the weather like on Sunday? For once I'm not travelling to Norwich and my missus isn't coming up here, so I get to do all the things I like in peace and quiet: getting out on the bike, drinking tea, napping. I feel it's about time I improved my embarrassing time.
Hopefully, for my sake, it'll be at least a bit wet thus meaning you have to ride fixed and not that beautiful fair weather ride. Giving me an increased chance of not being last.
-
The guy on the IRO was my mate Jared. He's too cool to be on the forum. Big kiwi guy, can be fast as hell and is fearless in traffic.
He spotted you too... apparently you stood out a bit with all the white gear, massive logos and wom wom wheels!
Who'd have thought, two big kiwi guys riding fixie skidders the same way round Richmond Park at the same time. Shame only one of them is cool, fast as hell and fearless in traffic.
-
It won't be seeing any wet weather, but I was hoping to set a few times on it before it gets put away for winter. Will be giving it a go on my fixed with shoulder-width risers instead - will feel nice in the Spring when I get back on the road bike!
Will have to ride the Donhou to work tomorrow, then hand it over to someone to ride from Victoria to LMNH.
Does that mean you're gonna have a go at my time fixed then?
-
that was me, hi
saw two guys going anti on fixed, one wearing red jersey and another one on a silver/chrome bike, both with drops...(wasn't really paying attention today and done my laps absentmindedly)
which one were you?I was in black on silver gray fuji (with bullhorns tho), I think I was just getting to the top of the climb towards Richmond Gate.

Couldn't get enough signal out there to access forum on phone :(
Managed a 53:34, so 4 seconds off my best. Which shows consistency but was frustrating - definitely felt I had to work harder for it today. I managed a PB on my first lap (23mph avg, 17:32 or something) but it was unsustainable. I'd lost 30 seconds by the end of lap two and struggled to hold on to that for the final go.
Saw two fixie skidder types, one with bullhorns and a swirly tat on his right calf, the other on a black IRO who looked like he might be on here. Anyone?
Nice riding a bike that actually works for a change :)Thought that must have been you as I believe you mentioned upthread you would be riding a Look. Very distinctive, nice. Didn't say anything, serious business an all. Also gone too bloody quick. I was all in black with the swirly tat.
Also saw a few other fixie skidder types, bloke walking towards and then waiting at Roehampton gate with messenger bag, another bloke with messenger bag and skidlid going clockwise and the third, also going clockwise, girl with big curly hair, drops and I think chrome vees. Could've just been the sun reflecting off them or third lap hallucinations.
Hai, if any of you are on here.

rougerie and menard has been fantastic. id put the money on france now. decisions have been going all nz's way. ive slightly jumped ship just because there have been a few cheap shots by the kiwis. mccaw being the main culprit
Talking of cheapshots. Check out Rougerie headbutting and then eye gouging McCaw just before the end. No wonder there was so little interaction between the teams at the end. Nasty ugly business!

You could try The Ledger Building out at Canary Wharf if you're out east at all. They seem to have a good selection.
