If you're talking about the seatpost, it's laser etched. Repainting a seatpost seems like a bad idea, no way will it ever be as durable and or even fit.
I meant the post, but if it's lazared on then there's no point, thought it might be a simple job like the stem - well, I say simple, guess it's not that easy really

Can you clear a bit of something up for me as I'm struggling to find out a definite answer
Are the caad5's all aluminium? What other dales that look like this are all alu? (I'm thinking alu will be cheaper therefore more realistic for me + I already have a bike with carbon rear end, just want a project :)

Maybe if it's your own bike, and you've got a current project thread post up a link? Or is that just sad?
Couple of questions regarding a tt bike, generally how much difference should there be from the tip of the saddle to the end of the stem compared with a road bike? (top tube length I guess??)
Any reason why you can't use a normal road frame? Anything else different to a road bike that's not obvious?

Well I've seen various time trial bikes dotted about on the forum, just thought we should get all the pictures together in one thread
I can't find any like this, only threads on them for sale and the discipline. I'm wanting to start doing a few local 10milers so looking to build up a bike for it :)
Let's get it started!!!!

I used the cogs from a freewheel 5/6/7 speed cogs and found them fine. Infact no reason to change - other than I went fixed. With my gearing I started off with equivalent to a bmx (52-24) for anyone who cares. Was good but then my dad broke the body so had to swap to another freewheel and the biggest I could use was a 20 ( freewheel bodies with 6/7 gears have a step in the middle for the bigger cogs to sit on) worked really well and that's the gearing I use fixed

I used to use spds when I raced bmx, really liked them, don't think I'd use them on a road bike though, duno why
Used to use look keos (like most folk as there first road clip less) swapped to 0 degree float cleats and loved them
Swapped to shimano cos I wanted black pedals, since realised they weigh more so will go back to keos soon. The 105 5700 are very nice though

Maxxis holyrollers? Flat overall tread but big cut outs, got one on the back of the dj bike, used to race bmx on them etc
Got a dmr moto on the back of the rigid mtb, seems good. On the front of both those bikes I've got a maxis high roller, bloody love them, will buy the 1.9/2.1 xc versions for the mtb when I can justify it
High roller soft compounds are soft though, wear out really quick, buy the 60/70a for xc

Ivegot a Raleigh pursuit, drop 700cs on, loads better. Split down the geared freewheel and space out to correct chain line. Generally about 3/4 out of 5 for the big ring at the front.
The best mod I ever did to mine was fitting a good front brake - besides making it fixed. File out the drive side dropout so you can tension the chain.
Love mine tbh :)
