Even considering a mavic ellipse but i think i am right in saying its not a sealed hub? Would it be a problem? its unlikely to see much if any rain as i have another bike for that.

I would like some advice on what front wheel for my fixed track road bike, i would like a sealed bearing hub, v rim of 30mm or more, and not too heavy as i am trying to keep the weight down as much as possible. but i do want the aero rim even though it will be a bit heavier.

So far i have had a look at the halo aerotrack wheel, the wheels on v-sprint, etc and even been looking at building one on CRC, like a cubb hub on a RR585 rim, but not really a 100% sure.

Any suggestions?

Hi I'm after a 700c front wheel for a track bike, clincher type rim, preferably aero rim.

I was after a hed tri-spoke but didn't have the cash when there were a few for sale a few weeks back, I would still like one ideally, but I am still intrested in what anyone has to offer.

I've just bought a complete set of tires for both my bikes today, i bought a pair of rubino pro's in 23c for the fixed, based on what is on here. and a schwalbe durano front and kojak rear for my 26" commuter.

Buy two UN26 while they have them at that discount. There's not much difference, and two cheap ones will give better service than one mid-range model. Between the other two, the UN55 is worth the extra £2 over the UN54 which it supersedes, thanks to the metal NDS cup.

Thanks for your help, the UN26 was in the wrong size for me in the end, so i went for the UN55.

Sorry but a boring question here. I need a BB for my all weather commuter bike, it needs a basic square taper type. I was looking a few from shimano on CRC and they have 3 different ones, one is only £5, another £12 and one for £14. Trouble is i can't tell the difference between them, can anyone help/suggest or recommend?

if it has a freewheel type rear hub, which you can tell by just looking at it, you will be able to use the standard wheel.

Also whats the deal with aero spoke wheels? aren't they just for looks because they're heavier than traditional wheels? sorry i'm new!

It does makes the frame stiffer, i mean if you were to try and flex the frame or forks without the hub fitted there would be a lot more flex, as the hub ties the ends of the dropouts together.
