Bigham could have only optimised within the 3-4 Kask helmet options, sizes, visor combinations etc. The Giro might 10w faster but he can't wear it. So the short answer is maybe.
Specific to Ganna, he moves his quite head a lot so what's fastest on him isn't likely to be the perfect tunnel tested option in any case, but that'll be factored into the final choice.

Exactly this. Do whatever test you can best execute a max effort for. None of them are perfect.
I race just under, at, or a bit over my threshold, so knowing what my max power is for durations between 20 minutes to an hour is important. I like these: https://www.trainingpeaks.com/blog/the-physiology-of-ftp-and-new-testing-protocols/ as they are useful for setting TTE and then you can optimise the length/distribution of lactacte clearance stuff. Anything much shorter than 20 minutes I don't really care what my max numbers are.
If you use intervals.icu you can go out and do some short, medium and long max efforts and it'll give you a good idea of your FTP, I think someone said one max effort is all you need but I'd want a spread of sprint, v02 and long aerobic efforts personally to derive a decent number.

Why would it skew it though? you are just riding a bunch of 1 min intervals are you not, where you need to hold an average power until you fail an interval? I haven't done a ramp test for years, all I remember is it was really easy and then really intense for a few minutes at the end and it gave me a massively high FTP estimate.
tldr @ghostface I hadn't seen that but yes, I agree with Jesse. This idea that you can cheat the shorter tests by sprinting at the end....ok, but if you want an accurate test, just...don't sprint at the end.

I've not heard amazing things historically about Hunt (and won't move from LB) but https://www.huntbikewheels.com/products/hunt-50-carbon-disc-wheelset for £679 doesn't seem like a bad deal.

Parting ways with faithful commuter. I should convert this to flat bar to help with the fit issues I've always ignored (long legs short arms but too lazy to switch to a short stem) but work have finally moved office to one with lockers and showers so the need for a sensible bike with a rack are diminishing.
I bought the frame off eBay a number of years ago, it was a custom paintjob (the Reynolds sticker joke was not mine!) and I built it up with a set of wheels off here and basic finishing kit. The horrible Fizik pink bar tape has held up suprisingly well. With wide tyres and guards it's a really smooth ride and requires very little maintenance other than pads and replacing the chain every few years. I had previously run with both front and rear racks but settled with just the BLB on the front. Never used the dynamo in the end, was assured the SP hub worked when I bought but haven't the means to test I'm afraid. Since photos have sorted the rear mudguard with an actual SKS clip. Horribly bungy cords will be removed...

- there's some paint rub on the fork on one side from doing tracklcross in Epping during lockdown when I stupidly took the mudguards off. Can't see it with the guards on but it wasn't deep.
- there are some nicks in the tyres, everything has sealed fine but they aren't in pristine condition
- am selling as seen but will keep the pedals.
All in a really bombproof setup that has got me in and out of town 2-3 times a week with very little complaint. Looking for £300 collected in E17 but can meet central if that helps. No posting sorry.

I wanted but never in stock in 120/130mm in 36 or 38cm.
Went with the Avian Falcon above, there is a beefier version of the original which is still about 250g lighter than the Hollowgram setup it was replacing, and comes with the same printed spacer you specify. Could do without the bird decal but it's relatively subtle/it was bought for narrow width/performance, not aesthetics.

I am aware of good testers closing the FTP gap to a few %, but they are probably not as fit as they would be had they done more training in a traditional position so it's not something I focus on or try to compare.
I think Bigham interviewed about narrowness of hands which he says generally tests faster on almost everyone, and is roundly more uncomfortable for everyone...but it is inherently trainable eventually without physiological limitation on power output.
