Get 'er done?
Yep! Just got back home from the Crit and got 2nd place. Won some Dodici Rims, that will probably appear up for sale some day soon. If I sell them here, I'll donate to the forum since it has made winning them possible.
Thanks for the help guys. All of you!*
*Except for tester, cuz he called me fat.

@Bas .. If you don't trust you're modification why not add a seat coller or hose clamp to the post itself on top of the frame clamp to stop it moving down. This is a common modification by Pro team mechanics for the pave classics ..
Might be a good idea.
You mean the post 'wobbles' or you can twist it? The seatpost shouldn't ever wobble (have any play in it) at all, even with an open/busted seatcollar. If it does, it's too small for the frame.
It twists, with quite some effort.
The tube bit turns when the pressure high. So the angle looks way more off now. Don't quite know what you're trying to tell me what to do, although I do love your drawings.

if you're in london I can still come round wih a dremel you know...
just saying
I live in the Netherlands, but thanks for the offer.
I think I'll give filing the tube another go this evening. It only needs a quarter turn to get it tight enough, so it might be worth it.Glue is not really a short-term solution, because I'll have to race this bike tomorrow.

Don't know how well equipped you are, if you could just get a bit of solid bar and drill it out to exactly the right size it wouldn't slip or squash. Horrendous job without a drill press or lathe though.
Not that well equipped at home..
At this moment I've got some steel tubing, steel bolt and washers and the bolt is stating to bend at the point where I can stil move the saddle sideways a little but I seems not to go up or down anymore (maybe because the rib profile on the Thomson posts). I think this is the threshold so I'm just going to stick with this and hope for the best tomorrow.

I've seen a Pista Concept with this failure and the guy got it welded back together, been like that for 3 years now I think with no problems. Just find an aluminium welder.
I think my uncle is pretty good at that stuff, so this might just be the long term solution. But the thing is, it is kind of hard to reach, since the bit that broke off is almost completely inside the part where the frame is cut to make the clamping possible.

Soooo, I was going to do some laps to check out the setup for the fixed criterium I was planning on riding tomorrow. Decided to play with the setup a bit and while tightening the seatpost bolt this happend:
I definitly did not tighten it too much and haven't before.
Biggest question: does anyone know how to fix this?
