^ You reminded me to go back and see if there were more darting parakeets at dusk along the Lea. Sure enough at 4pm, along they came.

Robin and a swan, Walthamstow wetlands, and an egret on the Lea, all this morning.

Your memory is excellent Oliver. Well, the oddest thing I found out at the talk was the path was surprisingly popular with Welsh sheep drovers, which, geographically speaking, doesn't make a lot of sense. It may have had something to do with the toll road network and that it was cheaper to avoid the more direct routes in through west London. There were other little nuggets of info too which may turn into future tags.

That's great. They kept far more of the original features than I thought.

I heard about this place at an excellent John Rogers talk about the Black Path, a medieval droving route from Walthamstow through London Fields, Broadway Market, Colombia Road etc. The Cooke and Manze family (from Italy) were the two main pioneers of jellied eels/pie and mash shops in London, even connected by marriage at one point too. A lot of the original tiling and windows still remain despite its second life as an optician's.

I got 3 under with an exceedingly lucky guess on the second attempt. I will say it's easier to understand the clue when it's written how it's displayed in the video than in numerical form as it was on the website. But even then, that's a tough one

Snappysnaps all the way! I used to when I was a kid and a bit at uni, but only black and white. This was a test roll after I repaired the light seals in an old Pentax, which only took me 3 years to get round to doing.

In my haste, I confused legs and nerves, but yes, eels, as per photo 32!

@Oliver Schick I was down the Lea by Hackney Marshes this evening at dusk and I've never seen (or heard) so many parakeets. They came bombing down the river in waves to settle in the trees.

And, I'm happy to say, a brief flash of kingfisher, if you can spot it. The ripples from its flapping are the giveaway

I'm not sure it is tbh - other shots in the series show slightly different markings on the wing to your one.
