Downing to West Ham.
Move of the season. No hope for Liverpool now.
Trolling aside, the acquisition of Caroll and Downing from Liverpool at reasonable cost may well prove to be deal(s) of the season. Certainly, should the Brendalution result in more cries of "next year" - and I am struggling to see beyond that at the moment - and West Ham continue their good work, then I think this may be the case.

I got to the pub post-Root wicket but pre-lunch. I felt that Cook should have known better than to pad away the ball what got him and that Trott was trying to play too many balls at the time. It looked like a decent one that got him but I expect better, really.
Sadly by the time KP went I was ears deep in a trough of G&T.
At no stage would I have described the Bogan bowling as anything more than adequate. Our bats should have done better.

There is nothing like an arsehole who thinks he can do what he wants receiving quick and violent justice from a pensioner to put a smile on your face.
And always nice to be reminded that, despite what the Daily Mail like to say, you can pretty much do what you want to intruders so long as you stop short of shooting them in the back.
This.
In droves.

^^ I cancelled my longstanding Orange contract about a month ago and went with the Nexus 4/GiffGaff option. I really can't recommend both of these highly enough.
I seem to get better coverage than I did with Orange and the Nexus hardware is seriously good for the money. The missus is now going to get rid of the iPhone and the T-Mobile contract and follow suit.

That is a shame really as they have been helpful beyond the call of duty when I have traded with them in the past. Admittedly, I was accessing them as a broker through their commercial fine art channels, but they have paid claims which are at best questionable and agreed various extensions to customer policies for very little if any additional premium.
I have been out of the broking game for a few years now but am still firmly within the industry and Hiscox are still the big players for high-end/high value insurance.
However, there is very little loyalty or sentiment in personal insurance generally and come renewal you should do some shopping. A decent broker can be very useful in such times.

Is the silence of Rio Ferdinand, Jason Roberts et al, due to the fact that Mikel is African?
Is this trying to imply that Roberts and Ferdinand, and perhaps Afro-Caribbeans in general think that Africans are fair game for racism? I'm no expert on these matters, so just interested to know where you are going with this....
FWIW - I agree with your earlier sentiments regarding players having no right of reply against referees and any suggestion of abuse of players from referrees needs to be investigated and dealt with promptly.

But surely this supports the earlier point: the beans were first cooked by application of heat. Then they were canned. You cooked them again through application of heat -thus turning them into a biscuit(s). Then you decided to cook them for a third time, at which point they turned into something else.
I am not an expert on these matters so can't advise you on what it was that you ate after the third cooking. It wouldn't appear to be a biscuit(s).
Maybe its a double negative type of thing and they reverted to beans?

A rather large theft of art happened yesterday in the Netherlands.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-19959224
I find these thefts to be quite interesting as the pieces have no value now through any legitimate channels. Unless they have been stolen to order for some Blofeld type super-villain or there is some sort of underground auction house for stolen paintings, I really don't see what was to be gained from the theft.

I have lurked this thread for some time and occassionally popped up with slightly drunken ramblings. However, just interested to know whether many here actually go to matches? Lots of talk of plastics etc/
For my sins, I really stopped going to West Ham when we were promoted to the Premiership under Pardew. Enjoyed the seasons in the Championship but really couldn't get excited about the Premiership circus thereafter. The last time I went to Upton Park was when Tevez scored a screamer in a match against Chelsea - a match which in which we were well beaten.
I have just turned down tickets for two matches and feel that I am very much a plastic these days. Ho hum.
The next door neighbour suggests that a Saturday over at Dulwich Hamlet is a better proposition. I may take him up on that. #properfootball

The Cambira is very close to home for me and would have loved to have popped in - if nothing else than to have met some locals. I am new to South London after all.
Sadly, the reality of getting my flat into a liveable state took precedent - that struggle continues.....
Hopefully, I should make future gatherings - are there any thoughts for next week?

I bought a Cinelli Gazetta from them last year and unless Cinelli have changed it for the 2012 bike, it is very much an unthreaded Ahead set up.
However, as you have seen above, be very wary of their proposed delivery times dates etc. Also, if you are making a saving on the cost of the frame from other suppliers, make certain that you really are buying the 2012 (or whichever you think it is) before confirming the order.
For my dealings with them, I had understood that I would my new kit within about 5 days and ended up receiving it over three weeks later. I had sold my old bike in the meantime and was reduced to the ignominy of slumming it on public transport in the interim. The terrible delivery people also failed to deliver on the said date and I took a day off work to receive a delivery that didn't arrive. All in all, quite unsatisfactoy.
