Hey guys, In the process of converting my steamroller to tracklocross and i've a few questions you may be able to help me with.......

I've decide to runa flat bar rather than drops and running 700x38 tyres with brakes as i'm not thatbrave just yet!

What i'm no so sure about are gear ratio's, bar width and riser or flat and the advantages these offer.

I normally run 46x18 on my road steamroller (700x32) so was thinking 42x20 or similar?

Any advice gratefully recieved

Coming back to fixed after a number of years i decided to build this to dip my toebackinthe water.....

really enjoyed the process and thnks to users on here for the advice and some parts!

Plan is to alternate in this guise but also run as a flat bar tracklocross when the mood takes.

Coming back to fixed after a number of years playing with gears and while building the new steed i couldn't get hold of a dingle.....really useful bit of kit, seems Surly no longer make it?

Does anyone know of another manufacturer that makes something similar?

Levers need to work with standard cantis please, bars something like the ritchey classics or similar 31.8 clamp if poss.

Hmmmm, a bit of googling came up with this.....

Looks like it gives a 42mm chainline with a 103 bb

....seems very narrow
