I've got a kryptonite mini and it fits through backwheel (deep V rim) and seat tube to regular (sheffield?) bike stand no problem. The parallel bits on the lock can't quite fit through at a right angle to the bike if that makes sense, but there's definitely enough room to lock it properly. And I don't think the NY is any smaller than the mini is it?

True, and as usual trawling the internet tends to throw up as many questions as it does answers.

However based on Mr Thompson's 2p and other testimonials I've read I reckon 23's will be fine if properly inflated.

I can't find any detailed specs for these online. Has anyone ran these with 23mm tyres?

As far as I can see the main problem is that motorists on the whole just do not acknowledge cyclists as having a legitimate right to use the roads.

If you like the bike apart from the bars I wouldn't let them put you off too much - as far as I'm aware all the Charge Plugs are pretty much the same apart from the bars and the wheels, and bullhorns/flats/risers needn't cost a lot to replace.

Thanks again for the replies. Yeah I really should try out the Langster. Maybe I'll just hang around the student area 'till I see someone riding one, chase them down and ask for a go.

See therein lies the rub; the Plug I tested earlier felt nice and solid yet comfy, so good over the shite road surfaces. My current beater is a hardtail alu hybrid (yeah I know) and it's pretty jarring. I know the Langster has carbon fork and (wrapped?) seatpost so I guess this'll offset the alu frame somewhat.

My head is saying Langster (better wheels, lighter) but I'm also really tempted to get the shiny new Plug.

re the crap comment, I was joking really, it was more a reference to how much they get dissed by people; I'm sure that once I actually make a decision I'll be stoked with either of them.

As for the Bianchi, bank balance says no.

I'm currently trying to decide between a new Charge Plug Racer and a s/h Langster with upgraded wheels, same price for both. Just been and test ridden a standard Plug and enjoyed it, but then again most half-decent new bikes will seem nice compared to my current beater. Can't find a Langster to test out.

Believe me, I've used TFS and have been reading up on both all day today instead of doing any work (soz work), but I cannot make up my mind.

So apart from the fact that they're both crap (plug heavy, langster ugly yadda yadda yada) I'd be very interested to hear opinions from people who have used both.

Will be using it as my main bike (12mile round commute, out and about on evenings and weekends).

Does the frame include the headset as per the picture? And I take it the XL is the 58cm?

I'm always very wary when approaching bridges on the canal paths around Leeds as a dip in all that murk would definitely put a crimp in my day.

During the recent cold snap there were plenty of tracks on the frozen canal, big skids possible on there I reckon.

Is the Greenwich foot tunnel the one that runs under the thames and comes out near the observatory? Crazy acoustics in that tunnel.

But the extra width may present chain line issues if converting to fixed?
