I’m writing some VBA to automate a process I’ve inherited at work. It involves updating a couple of ‘master’ excel files with various bits of data from a scheduled Business Objects report which is then compared with previous year data pulled from archived reports. There is one part that has me stumped, and I’d be grateful for any suggestions – I’m fairly new to VBA so it’s likely I’m missing something obvious.
One sheet has a column on the left hand side populated with week-beginning dates. I need to find a way programmatically to look for the date in said column closest to “today’s” (as in the day I’m running the process) date and then populate a corresponding cell with a value from the scheduled report. I’ll be running the process on a Monday, apart from on bank holidays.
So for example when I run it next Monday it would find “today’s” cell (or the nearest preceding one) which happens to be A44 (4/7/16) and populate Q44, Z44, AI44 and AR44 with various values from the scheduled report.
Any ideas?

The wording of different parts of that page are confusing me a bit. The table suggests someone (me) with an Irish grandparent can get an Irish passport by registering myself in the foreign births register but further up it seems to suggest (as I think you've inferred) that unless your parent was registered as a foreign birth then it's a no-go.
Is it definitely the latter?

I'm glad this thread has turned up! All of my fixed bikes have been steel, but recently I've been wanting to try a more modern alu/carbon combination. I was thinking Langster but these also caught my eye as a well-priced OTP with good finishing kit. However there was hardly any info online. Tempting.

As a resident of Yorkshire I'm so happy that both tours de have been judged successes, and I hope that it continues to establish itself. It's been brilliant being able to go and watch them race up climbs that I'm familiar with. I can also strava-stalk the pros and compare their segment times with my own fairly paltry uphill struggles.
Considering it also marks the final of the snooker world championship this is now officially my favourite bank holiday.
As for the conditions, I imagine it will have been very rough on the moor tops yesterday as evidenced by the echelons. I was on Greenhow hill on Friday (in 2 layers of HH merino and a Rapha transfer jacket!) and I was still freezing.
