I was raced yesterday. I say 'raced,' but only one of us was racing and it wasn't me.
Almost home after a 50 mile, very hilly ride and a guy in mountain bike gear (baggy shorts, jersey, spd trainers and helmet) riding a base model Specialized road bike (brand new - C2W?) decides to ride up the inside of me, look at me and then cycle off.
I get to the next set of traffic lights where he's stopped at a red and he's sat there looking all smug over his shoulder waiting for me to arrive and then he says (whilst panting like a dog and sweating like a fat man) 'you might have all the gear but you can't fucking cycle very fast, can you?'
Is this normal behaviour once a hairy leger gets hold of a road bike?
What a pr!ck... These are the kind of biggots that undertake lorries and then complain that its the drivers dangerous driving.

This sounds rather like going cap in hand to the council, asking for a hand out- not something to base a business on as it could be taken away from you.
Again- need to decide on whether this is a business, or something to do until it comes to an end when the council want to build flats/similar
Why are you guys so bent on creating a business rather than a community project?
Here is the link to london hackspace, I am VERY SURE this could be done for cycles too.

Edit: i know it says hacking community, but in reality people do a lot of other stuff there, mainly.

Workshop in east -central london near shoreditch please, central, cheap and good place for after workshop drinks.
JUST remembered, NO NEED FOR ANNUAL/BOOKING FEES read on;
I was a member of London Hackspace (search wikipedia/google for info) its a community run project that hosts a free workshop. Funded by council. Located in shoreditch.
They have a HUGE ASS TON of heavy/mechanical machinery. People come there to build furniture, create art, fix bikes, fix stuff, miuscelaneous stuff, electrical stuff, compure stuff etc etc.
A lot of the stuff is donated, I am sure if we speak with them we can arrange something, they got PLENTY of space, this could be the answer to a free workshop with loads of equipment and stuff.

Some skinny kiddy on some racing bike started racing me today ... dropped him going up constituition hill. I had to wait for some lights and he was determined to stay in front so the cheeky fucker decides to over take me just as the lights go green. He wasn't that fast though but he was riding a bit mental... so I drafted to Homebase while singing Duran Duran - Ordinary World.
Is this anywhere near clapham by any chance? The homebase near York Road/Battersea Park road?

So was test riding my newly bought reynolds 531 frame bike, was very impressed with lightness and agility. So, anyway I am quite quick at take off with the bike, but I maintain a steady speed once I've gathered momentum. Problem is, I overtake most people when traffic light turns gree due to my fast take off, and these guys take it so personally.
earlier tonight, left some guys in the dust as I took the roundabout, and as I am riding steadily home I can hear the panting and the desperate chain-bashing sound behind me. Naturally I dont really care and keep my pace, and after a few minutes a guy takes me over and leaves me in the dust. Lol...
He slows down again at the traffic lights, as soon as I pull up next to him, he takes a quick look at me and zooms away leaving me in dust again and vice versa untill I had to turn towards aldgate.
I mean wtf lol, theres nothing personal involved here, some people just need to chill out a bit.

Jeeeees...
I cycle this everyday and I think the same IC3 lads (yes I had to google it) tried the same thing with me.
I was absolutely flying and a lad stepped off the kurb away from his mates into my path with thievery and intent in his eyes. So I put some extra down through the peddles and held my line. He must've bottled it (obviously on account of my awesome power) and stepped back to the kurb.I hope this isn't a trend emerging.
No offence, but, do not do this.
Single kick to the rear wheel as you are passing and youll be flying off your bike face first into the curb/barrier. Simply ride around them, signal a turn to car behind you and go into adjacent lane etc.

Just popped round decathlon fort some AA batteries, on my way back over Tower Bridge saw like 50ish people, men and women, all ages, assortment of bikes etc crossing the bridge in a big group yelling and yowing...
One guy had been towing what looked like a subwoofer, blaring loud music in all directions. I was going the opposite way, naturally (f*ck my life), was tempted to do a U turn and join in the bandwagon.
Anyone know what that was all about? Hope it was a party, being friday and all...
