Hi everyone, names Kyle and I'm new to these parts (be nice). Just here to learn as I go along.

Anyway....

Picked up this recently for £20 with the plan on turning it into my noble steed. I have another bike but more on that another time. Its a Raleigh Medale, and frankly I dont know anything about it. If any of you wizards on here know anything please let me know, I would appreciate it. I.e frame tubing, component info etc.

To me its doesnt look like worthy of restoring to period specific so I'll be going a different route. Atleast I'll be saving another bike. I'm thinking either all black everything, or rebuild with the raleigh team colours (white, red, blue).. Not sure on that particular model either but watching another thread on here where the OP has that scheme in mind.

Some few more updates.

The bike was transfered to another garage for undercoating and spraying the frame. Today I sprayed another 2 layers of undercoat (3 in total), and also sprayed the frame frame to white. As I really like the model in link below, I'm thinking of doing mine the same colour etc.

I think I may have misunderstood. I thought you guys are getting the train from london to bournemouth and then cycling round here to get a train back from bournemouth... Is that right?

I'm from bournemouth but can always meet up with you guys at the train station. Will be the first time I'm doing this sort of thing, although by no means new to cycling. Will be checking back for updates.

If I'm lazy and the weather's good, I go along the beach.

If I'm short for time I go with traffic (tend to do this one more often).

Like the idea of this though, will see if there are other routes I can take.
