Has anyone here lost a 56cm 2009 Condor Pista?
I posted a frame on gumtree, asking for swaps for a steel frame, and this odd guy called and tried to sell me it - a complete bike and wasn't interested in my frame at all.
He wanted £400 for a complete bike, which seems a little too cheap, and didn't know all that much about it.
Also said that he wasn't going to post it online which was a little odd

This is quite an interesting read on fat loss and cycling
http://m.active.com/cycling/Articles/Why_fast_pedaling_makes_cyclists_more_efficient.htm
Tl;dr: pedalling faster burns more fat
-
I'm just doing weights - following "Starting Strength" by Mark Riptoe.
I haven't lost any weight as I am following the recomposition plan, where you have 20% more calories than you should on training days, and 20% less on non-training days, so you stay the same weight, but put on muscle at the same time as loosing fat.
If you were interested in loosing weight, you could opt for a +10%/-20% split

I've been following the leangains intermittent fasting program for the last 2 weeks, and it's working really well so far.
I've been combining it with 200mg of caffeine 3 times a day - which may not sound like that much, but I don't drink tea/coffee or coke, so the first day, my last pill was at 6pm, and I was still wide awake at 3.30am
Intermittent fasting is eating for 8 hours, not eating for 16 - you can pick your own window, so I do 2pm to 10pm.
I also cycle carbs, so on the days I'm doing resistance training, I eat high carbs, and on the non training days its low carbs, high fat (protein stays the same)

I'm off to my little brother's wedding in 3 weeks time, so its time to have a bit of a clearout so I have some extra spending money out there!
Everything can be picked up from SW20 in or from Croydon.
Bits and pieces are as follows:
Shimano R075 Road Shoes. Size 45 which is around about a UK 10. They are too big for me, and I have only worn them twice. There isn't a single scuff or scratch on them, and they come with the cleats - which are again in spotless condition - £40
Shimano R086 Road Shoes. Size 43 - which is a UK 8.5. I wore these on and off for around 3 months, so they have some signs of wear on them as shown in the photos below, but are still in fantastic condition - £50
Original Drop Bars from Specialized Langster. No dents, never dropped, but there are some rust spots which need polishing out - SOLD
White Gold Finger RHS brake lever. Bought off a forum member, but never got round to fixing it on - just hoping for my money back - SOLD
Original RHS Brake Lever for Specialized Langster - £5
Charge Plug Stem - £5
Charge slice bullhorn bars - SOLD
Planet X lightweight oversized stem - £10
Deda Big Piega oversize bars, good condition except for the obligatory marks from the stem - £10
"Lock & Roll" Zefal Anti Theft skewer for rear wheel (won't suit horizontal dropouts). This is a cool skewer, where once locked, you can't unlock it unless you tilt the bike past 180 degrees - SOLD
Charge Plug pedals including toe clips - SOLD
Shimano M520 SPD Pedals - silver - £7
Shimano M520 SPD Pedals - black - SOLD
Shimano SM PD22 Platforms for SPD Pedals - SOLD
Brand new shiny Tektro brake levers - £10
Ciussi Inox Steel Bottle Cage - £7
And now for some slightly OT items:
White Unlocked Blackberry Curve, I have the receipt for this lying around somewhere which you are more than welcome to, it comes with the case in the picture. Missus used it for about 3 months, then decided she wanted a touch screen phone, so has been sitting in a draw for a few months now - I powered it up and it works fine - SOLDWireless mouse and mini dongle thingy - I got this free with a laptop bag I bought - £5
Armani Jumper in XXL, but fits more like an XL
Sinclair A-Bike - a bit of a silly impulse buy on my part, minimal use, max weight of 85kg - £90
-
That is an epic story!
Good to hear you got back ok, and the biscuit came in handy!
I polished up the Condor, and it came out really well! Those baby wipes really shifted the dirt.
I've put a few coats of varnish on the scuffs on the carbon, and now don't have the heart to sell it! I'll keep the langster as fixed, and will convert the Condor to SS, complete with chain tensioner

Hi all
I recently bought a second hand bike, with a view to make it into my new fixed gear bike, using parts from my old langster.
It's currently got a Shimano 105 Double Groupset from 2008 on it, and I don't have all of the tools to remove everything myself, so the groupset is for sale provided you can remove the bottom bracket and all the tricky bits yourself.
A few scuffs here and there, but overall, pretty decent nick for its age.
39/53 on the front, front and rear brakes (both 105s), all the cables etc, although the cable for the front derailleur is a little frayed, 10 speed Shimano 105 STIs levers, bottom bracket
If anyone is interested I will post pics later on
£120 - I live in SW20

I found this quite amusing - it's a video of a bloke getting fined for not cycling in the cycle lane:

Good way to loose weight and look good in a short space of time:
When you wake up in the morning, don't eat anything. Drink some water then go for a ride - 20 to 30 mins max, nothing too strenuous, you need to sweat a bit.
Straight after you finish with the cardio, eat! Something with protein in it - Protein shake or eggs, maybe some meat and some carbs. Starchy carbs (rice, potatos, pasta) and processed sugars are your enemies for the next 4 weeks.
Lift heavy weights - this will limit muscle loss. Check out stronglifts.com for a good beginners routine which will preserve muscle while you are busy not eating anything.
No carbs after 8pm - none at all. If you feel hungry and want something sweet then go for a jog. Then reward yourself with chewing gum.

Sooo...after a couple of bad hill starts coupled with badly fitting cleats, I've started to get pain under my right knee cap.
One of my buddies has offered me his bianchi nirone 7 campag-veloce with more scratches and scrapes than most peoples beaters for the princely sum of £300!
The paintwork is in truely horrible condition with some of the scratches going to the paint, but it still rides well and has carbon forks, seat post and stem.
Should I go for it in order to give me knees a break? I've just done some vote counting at the elections, and will hopefully gettin paid around £300 so I thought this might be a good buy.
What would your thought be?
Thanks

I went from 70kg to 84kg, but was getting a little chunky at the same time. I more than doubled my squat, and it seemed to rid me of the back pain I was suffering from as well - which was awesome.
I got to a point where I was happy with the size and strength, but not with the added blubber you get from eating a family sized pack of peanut m&ms for breakfast. Because I am too lazy to research another program (this one is basic, easy to remember and works) I have just stuck with it after starting leangains.
