I am flying in (10th feb) and out (12th mar) of Auckland. Got 2 days to get oriented in Auckland then going to a wedding in Kuaotunu on the Coromandel. Think I'll stay on for a day or two, and after that the only thing I have sorted is the england v nz cricket world cup in wellington on 20th feb.

Getting so many good tips from people that I know I'll have a blast! I'll be in touch if I need more info.

Horrible pothole on Waterloo road (when heading south). Hit it hard the other night and my hand that I fractured in May was aching all the way home. Reported.

Thought I was going to see someone come a cropper this morning. I was sat behind a bus at the lights at the bottom of Peckham Rye Common (east Peckham Rye where it is crossed by E Dulwich Rd/Nunhead Ln). The bus was indicating to turn left (west) towards East Dulwich.

Cyclist then shot up the inside just before the lights changed, and the bus started to move and turn left. Luckily the driver checked their mirrors and stopped just in time. Could have been nasty.

Saw the cyclist proceed to jump lights and have a go at a taxi near Peckham Rye station for doing something. He needs to take it easy.

OK, sale fell through, who wants it?

Got back late last night.

Awesome ride on Friday to Bruges. Slight tailwind and gorgeous weather. Rode in short sleeves and shorts. Sunny all day. Mainly along the canals. Road and drivers were all so nice.

So warm in Bruges on Saturday!

Return ride yesterday was hard. Strong headwind nearly all the way. Right in our faces. Luckily only started raining at Dunkirk passport control, but then ferry was delayed by 1.5 hours because of the weather.

Drank many beers. Ate many mussels.
7/10. would recommend. (the company made it a 9/10 trip!)

I am spending just over a month in New Zealand next February/March.

Any tips welcome. I will be on my own most of the time. Is it worth joining a tour? Fancy hiring a touring bike too.
