This is heading for a re-spray. To be re-built as fixed (with a retro look?) and later this year converted to gears for L'eroica

I've been looking at these from Exustar

Yes, in that photo they do look a bit ... remedial, don't they. I'll get round to it but remind me if I don;t.
So can I just ask:
Are people saying they've had their entry confirmed? I got the paypal receipt but nowt else as yet ... Seems a bit mad to pay through paypal but not know if you're in or not ...
We haven't had confirmation yet. I think a list is published on the 1st march. We did get an e-mail saying 'application successful pending payment' (is that confirmation?) and did enter within the first hour of entries opening

I'm seriously thinking about spooging my wad on a set of these:
I figure that I can probably use them with clips and straps on the day, then fit spd's when I get home.My concern about the Dromarti Sportivo would be whether the sole would be too thick for comfortable use of toeclips. On the other hand old fashioned cleats are sold as an accessory for the Dromarti Race
The sole on my MTB boot is too thick and the shoe sits too far back on the pedal, however my touring shoes with a much thinner sole sit nicely

I like to spin - I'm currently riding 48x22 ~ 59". A bit of a bu**er downhill but makes riding uphill and into a Hebridean headwind a possibility. Can still manage a 30- 50 km ride across the moors at between 25 and 30kph spinning at between 85 and 100rpm.
Will increase into the mid to high 60's in the summer as riding gets faster (I keep a election of cogs from 19-22)

Some lovely pics here. I use a mixture of film and digital. I have an Olympus OM10, Rollei B35 and 3 Holga 120's. I also develop my own b&w and then scan the negs.

Hi, found the forum whilst googling 'L'eroica on fixed'. I don't live anywhere near London, in fact living in Stornoway, I probably live as far away from the city as it's possible to get in Britain (barring Shetland).
Originally from Stafford, I started cycling with Stafford Road Club as far back as 1973. I'm now approaching '50' very quickly, and have rode fixed since I was a teenager, racing on the track a a member of VC Europa (and later Halesowen) between 1977 and 1981. I've had a fixie in my collection ever since.
Currently I own 4 bikes - 2 geared (an aravis audax, a Trek MTB) and 2 fixed (a 1970s Bob Jackson and a re-badged 1977 Team Raleigh)

jesus, don't do it fixed. that's madness. it's pleasant-but-challenging enough with gears.
It's not the distance or the climbs that I'm worried about (I ride fixed all year in the Outer Hebrides) - it's descending gravel roads with legs spinning like mad on a 64" gear.
I had considered a flip flop hub to convert to a freewheel when I get tired but I've done a search of the shed and have all the bits (need to get some wheels built tho') so I will be converting the Henry Burton to gears just for the ride

Pics don't appear to be there - try again

I have a 1970's Bob Jackson
and a 1977 (rebadged) Team Raleigh - currently away for another re-spray
I'm constantly fettling, re-speccing and swapping bits around between bikes, but have a few old campag nouvo record and shimano dura-ace bits so could easily knock together a geared 'retro' bike.
I even have some 32C Passellas somwhere in the shed

Hi, first post from me, I joined the forum to follow this thread
I've entered, and was considering riding my 77 Team Raleigh on fixed but after reading this will probably convert it to gears
This piece of news suggests foreign entries are going fastr with half of the available places taken in the first 24hrs.
Me too. Mrs W. doesn't want me to ride helmetless - but if I can find an old fashioned hairnet she's cool with it ???
