hmmm, tricksy. I assumed for polo a shorter crank length would be best, hence looking at those 160mm eightinch - plus of course they look nice-core - but yeh, hadn't taken into account q-factor. On the flip, I've been recommended shimano Saints which i've seen on a-lot of polo bikes, the bonus of being able to fit a bash guard is great but they're expensive new... got my eye on some 2nd hand ones, will have to see how that turns out..

p.s Rich = how much did you pay to get your v-brakes mounts braised on?

1)Currently working on my polo build, is there much i need to consider between a bmx style chain set and standard style one except 'personal preference?'
2)Anyone with any experience of the Eightinch cranksets? Seem pretty tidy for £100 inc postage and tax..

Looking for some forks 29er i guess ideally or 26 with enough clearance. V-brake mounts would be handy but not essencial.

Basically what i really want is a Bruiser polo fork but without the shipping costs..

Dice - i heard you on the in-bred mtb and its a tough choice working out what I like best but nobody has a bad thing to say about pompinos really, especially for polo purposes and comparing the geo etc between the two I recon this is right for me. I will, however, definately be picking you up on your offer of helping spec it out :)

Today was fun. For the first time in ages I felt like I made some improvement too. Anyway, super hyped about new bike vibes, great advice from everyone today, after riding Chris's think i'm about sold on the Pompino. Should hopefully be able to get an order in this week - woot. Sooo, I may be picking up a small chrome (yum) charge plug next week which with the right forks could be pretty rad. However, reading up on things I've become unnerved about this 700c vs 26s debate. My preference has always been 700c but wondering if by the summer i'll be regretting it....

Also, any thoughts on going for a 700c trick-type frame - Its only marginly more than i'd spend on this 2nd hand charge and the geometry would suit polo for sure..
