TBH i think surface is always gonna be an issue. I mean in bristol there are some fantastic courts of amazing size with perfect surface, but these are all only single courts. And when it comes to a tournament with 60+ people coming (as this has often come clear during some tournaments) a single court is just not enough, so the organisisers have to make concessions and this ,more than often, comes at the cost of the surface.

so i recently made the big step of putting SPD's on my pompino but have found that i'm getting a bit of toe overlap which i wasn't getting with platform pedals. This probably wouldn't be too much of an issue but i was planning on getting a set of onza tuff guy forks which have a rake of 30mm compared with my current pompetamine forks 45mm (i need a pair of forks with v mounts anyway). My thinking is that i can get a set of shorter cranks this might help deal with the problem but it would only really be from 170 to 165 which doesn't seem like much when compared with such a big change in rake. So should i just sack off getting the Tuff guys? or is there anything else i can do?

Right!
so i'm going to write piece about polo which will hopefully be published in boneshaker magazine. In my mind at the moment it will focus less on what the sport is but more on the people and different scenes across the globe. I also want to talk about how it has changed and evolved from a few people hitting a ball around on brakeless fixies to the sport it is today . There will of course be a few player profiles and sections on different scenes across the globe - at the moment i'm thinking London, Seattle and then somewhere smaller such as krakow but am undecided on this so suggestions would be great. What i really what is an accurate history of polo, i've been scouring the web for a while but haven't been able to find anything concrete (the best thing i've found is the lhbpa website) and ideally i want to get in contact with one of the original seattle players. Does anyone have any contacts with the seattle scene and know how i'd go about doing this?
With the profile of the london scene would it be better to just post the questions up on here or contact individuals? if the later who would be the best people to contact?
I'm really interested in getting everyones input so if you have any ideas or things to say, please post them up on here
Thanks

1) the personal approach: pester every single one of your friends who rides a bike and bully them into coming. They then may realise what they've been missing
2) let someone play on your bike, this totally changes your experience of polo. Someone who first tries it on a properly set up polo bike will have a totally different opinion to someone who tries it on a normal bike and then will be far more likely to come back
