I read that thread already, theres not much else online about it but the guy in that thread seems to think it effects all of the frames produced (except 2 models) so Im wondering why theres not much else about it online.
It might only be Zeta tubing but it has very nice tight frame angles, the chain stays are very short.
my 110kg bodyweight also concerns me, that bottom bracket shell is going to take alot of abuse. -
how common is it with Mexican made Benottos for the seat tube to crack at the bottom bracket lug? just bought a Modelo 1700 track frame thats in near mint cond and I was hoping to use it for training on and off the track so I need to know if Im taking a risk here.
seatpost size is 26.6mm which indicates Columbus Zeta tubing(no decal), the bottom bracket has a full heart shape cutout, think it was built in 1981 from the bb stamp
If it does crack how easy/safe is it to fix and is that the only potential frame failure?

axle brand wont matter as long as its the same lenght and thread, and high quality steel.

I have these cranks (nos) and Im trying not to buy another crankset because these are supposed to be good, the problem is the bcd, I will be using them on the track.
I recently got a 103mm bottom bracket for it.I found some NOS Dura-Ace 130bcd chainrings for around 80euro but I dont know much about them
my choices in the affordable range are either Stronglight Zicral or Velosolo(which I havent heard much about)
I presume the Sugino MC130 isnt that much higher quality? they are 130+euro in some places -

races and bearings show zero wear bar one cone. the 7600 hubs use the same cones as Dura Ace EX and early 7400.
A new cone can be ordered for $8 bringing it back to 100%, It does spin smooth and shouldnt be noticable as it is

it needs a 103mm JIS for 42mm chainline
Shimano UN54 in 107mm JIS Italian 70mm
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=17473with a 1mm spacer for your hubs fixed cog threads it should give you a 43mm chainline which is close enough. the 2.5mm spacer wont leave enough threads to safely secure the lockring
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=36416130mm sounds way off unless you are using a converted disc hub with spacers, the extra 2mm shell width doesnt make any difference

I have one in 100mm, very light. made from colombus tubing, the welding is tidy and has an overall nice finish. will be trying it out in a couple of weeks
I reckon it will be stiff, planet x has them at the best price. Ive seen them on ebay for 40+there seems to be a lot of nos 3t stems appearing recently
i hate 'flip flop' as much as 'fixie', why not just call it 'fixed/free'? who came up with the name?
