I’ve got severe asthma, been hospitalised a couple of times (though not for about 4 years - currently controlled with inhaled steroids) and attend the asthma clinic at GSTT. I had the vaccine a few weeks ago - though unclear whether they were applying criteria or just working their way down the asthma clinic’s patient list to try and fill gaps as it sounded like there were lots of no shows. I was asked if I wanted a shielding letter ... I declined.

Hello @middleofnowhere !

I’m not so sure - it’s got a financial backer, who has a background in venture capital (I think) and seems very keen. I think the risk is more that, in the absence of someone pushing the better route, this is let through because of the public clamour for something to happen

But the proposed route is far from straightforward
https://www.fulhamreachboatclub.co.uk/we-need-a-ferry-but-not-at-harrods-wharf
Fulham Reach is an amazing club that does loads of work with local state schools and is making rowing much more inclusive Would be a real shame if a route was chosen that made operating the club impossible (and as a frequent rower on that stretch of the Thames it is super tricky - the stream really picks up past their pontoon and launching or turning small boats between a bridge and a busy ferry would be treacherous.)
A functioning pedestrian bridge would clearly be ideal - doesn’t really feel like the mark of dynamic society that we’re replacing the bridges (that replaced ferries) with ferries

I only found out last month that Belle and Sebastian’s ‘Dog on Wheels’ is a complete rip-off of Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood’s ‘Summer Wine’. Like, outrageously so.
Anyway, I digress. We had been listening to Portuguese Radio Radar, when 6 Music got too much. Bit indie bland, but at least no talking.

Lamacq is the sound of my youth - once won a quiz on his show, where the answer was Elastica (who’d have thought). I aspire to a diet of bitter and crisps, but don’t disagree with much of the above
I really like Cerys - genuinely discover new stuff through her show. Always happy to listen to Gilles. I like Iggy but strongly suspect he’s being blackmailed by Sleaford Mods’ publicist - why else would he play them EVERY WEEK.
I don’t get why Tom Robinson is on so much - once heard him read out a band biog which was a rip-off of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, without a flicker of recognition from him (I feel I might have posted that before on this thread)

Ah, got it. I do recognise the houses now - have passed the end of the road many times and tortured myself by looking to see if we could ever afford to live there (we couldn’t). Not going to make it there and back in my allotted exercise slot, unless I discover new levels of fitness to power up whichever one of the hills I choose to get me there.
