Bought a used etap 11spd rear derailleur from ebay to finally finish a etap rim group I had been trying to compile (for 5 years!). In my haste I did not check feedback (all 100% positive) when pulling the BIN trigger. Its been delivered, but the case backing which has all the electrical gubbins in it has a couple of tiny hex bolts which have been ham fistedly put back together and are rounded out.
It appears to work but a bit pissed its been reconditioned/refurbished and seller did not put this in the ad nor did he add pics of the backing where the rounded out bolts are located. At the time of buying this was the only rear derailleur he had and he has now advertised parts of etap rear derailleur and non-working etap rear derailleurs as separate listings. As I did not check his feedback at the time of purchase I now see he has sold previous etap rear derailleurs and component parts for them. He may well be reconditioning/chopping and changing parts and selling as completes and selling odds and sods componentry.
As these 11spd rim brake etap rear derailleurs are temperamental things I may need to disassemble in the future and now won't be able to due to the rounded out bolts. Should I complain/send pics mentioning its been reconditioned (not included in description) and mentioning the rounded out bolts or am I being a touch sensitive?

Has happened to me, I would just give them a call and tell them exactly what has happened. Same situation has happened to me with an item 'delivered' with Royal Mail, I explained and they opened a case as not received whilst on the phone and was refunded a week or so after.
I can never find the 'call us button' on the website so go into the automated assistant chat box and type 'speak to an adviser' they'll call you.

Try this too...which is an alternative to the pere adaptor and much cheaper (and probably safer).
The pere adaptor is just 3 pieces of metal welded and is wildy overpriced so stick it on an ebay/gumtree search and hold out for a cheap listing as I did. The criticisms of the pere still remain though regarding lack of restraint and lack of a holding bar. My 3 yr old loves riding the pere though!

Not alfaparcel by any chance? Recently sent a frame to them after deliberating whether to send if they bought for someone else. I looked into the buyers name and it seemed it was bought by one of the directors of Alfaparcel so slightly different to your situation(?). I sent using parcelforce and insured to be on the safe side. Could be that the director wanted the frame but most likely forwarded to a buyer in Russia. I was thinking to email/message them. Maybe do that too?

Happens frequently, long time users never get called out by the majority for doing just that.
