Huh?
Hm?
I understand if none of what I wrote makes sense to you, but if only part of it has not been grokked, I'd be happy to clarify.
Usonian = US - I resent "american" being used to designate that country. The Americas consist of land to the north and south of that place, too. Also, that term came from one of their own.

Just a word of warning. Most early Shoppers are designed for 20 x 1 3/8" wheels which are quite a bit bigger than 20" BMX wheels such as Skyways. If you try to fit Skyways to one of these bikes, the brakes won't reach, even with long reach callipers. You need to look out for a late Shopper preferably from the 80s.
See here (20 x 1 3/8 in the fractional table and 20 x 1.5 - 20 x 2.125 in the decimal table)
http://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html20 by 1 3/8 = 451
20 inch BMX = 406
So you would need a brake with a drop of about 23mm more than what was on the bike previously. There are units out there that go as deep as 95mm, so, no problem. -

Sadly, Icebreaker is now and has been for at least 8 years or so Made in China. I'm not dissing them, but it's sad when a small company makes good and immediately heads overseas to "ramp up". The usual reason given to me by reps of these companies is either lack of local quality manufacturing or inability to produce the volume required. To my view, that smells of greed; growth is not always necessary or even useful for success. Rant over.

OK, I promised my frankenbike submission, and here it is - my girlfriend's build:
There's a variety of mods to it - dynamo hub, 27" alloys instead of the original steels, etc. I think the thing that tips it into frankenbike territory is probably the headlight which I ended up having to mount in the front of the basket.
That's more http://lovelybike.blogspot.com/ porn
than Frankenbike to me

I just use the entire shed, and keep it so messy that no-body else dare venture into 'MY' shed, that way I know exactly where everything is and have no worry of others touching/moving them.
:)This is good, but because of seasonal changes I keep having to move between the basement and my shed. Takes at least until mid-season to shift everything. Bah.

Likely, sounds insecure and whiny.
