This guys were doing it allready when I met them in eurobike 2010. It's a polo player that owns a bike company, they were bored of buying balls from Franklyn and produced their owns. Not sure from where exactly but something like Malasya.

Do a 3D model to check the pedal overlap, i did it with solidworks, it worked out perfect, exactly what I wanted, +-3mm of overlap, nothing you can't avoid with freewheel.

Big gear with long cranks......

Anyone been using Mavic Alpines for long? Do they hold up to polo abuse? Thinking about switching to these, but they're a bit pricey.

I've used them for a while, in general they hold up nice, but the sole gets too soft afther a year and a 1/2 and its painfull...i was using them for commuting as well.

I miss Camilo too...lets all smash the ball really hard and heckle in Spanish accents in his honour!

FORMATO:
El AHBPC va a ser un torneo sin equipos fijos, cada jugador se apunta individualmente, el viernes por la tarde se realizará un sorteo en el que habrá 3 bombos con jugadores de 3 tipos divididos según su calidad o torneos disputados, la repartición de los jugadores en cada uno de los bombos se realizará por un comité de “sabios”, que solo los sabios y la gente de Zaragoza sabrá quienes son. Asi pues, cada equipo tendra un jugador bueno, uno medio y uno principiante, lo que generará igualdad entre todos los equipos (o por lo menos eso pretendemos).

En el torneo habrá 20 equipos (60 jugadores), cada equipo jugará 8 partidos mínimo (a 5 goles o 10 minutos), no serán rondas suizas ni grupos. El formato será circular, conforme se vayan formado los equipos, estos formarán un circulo en el sentido de las agujas del reloj de esta forma cada equipo jugará 4 partidos contra los equipos que tenga a la izquierda y 4 partidos contra los equipos que tenga a la derecha del circulo (ej. El equipo 1 jugará contra los equipos 2, 3, 4, 5 , 20, 19, 18 y 17). Para las rondas finales se jugarán a eliminación directa desde octavos de final o desde cuartos de final, según como vayamos de tiempo… (se podrá decidir entre todos el domingo por la mañana).

FORMAT:
The AHBPC is going to be a tournament without fixed teams, each player is targeted individually, on Friday evening will be a draw in which there will be 3 players drums with 3 types divided according to their level or tournaments played, the players sharing in each of the drums will be made by a committee of "wise men", and that only the wise people of Zaragoza know who they are. Thus, each team will have a good player, intermediate, and beginner, generating equality among all teams (or at least I intend).

The tournament will have 20 teams (60 players), each team will play at least 8 games (5 goals or 10 minutes), will not be Swiss rounds or groups. The format will be circular, as they are formed teams, these will form a circle in the sense of clockwise so each team will play four games against teams that have left and 4 games against teams that have the right of the circle (eg team 1 will play against teams 2, 3, 4, 5, 20, 19, 18 and 17). The bracket on sunday will be single or double elimination, we wil decide it on saturday night-sunday morning.

Giessen last year was amazing!!
One of the best courts I've played, bbq all day, cheap cheap good german beer, sleeping place for all the players with breakfast included....can't make it this year but I recomend it as a good relaxing polo weekend!
