Thanks for that (57Hawkes), the Hobbs I have for sale is one originally purchased for my Wife. I also have another that her Father bought new in 1952 for a tour of the Loire Valley in 1953 - I took this bicycle to the Anjou Velo this year as this Hobbs was last in the Loire 60 years earlier - the French folk I spoke to were impressed.
When the frame was restored (it had to be) I had his channel ferry ticket fixed under the laquer - yes, he kept it! This Hobbs has GB spearpoint stem, GB randonneur handlebar, a Bayliss Wiley (NoS) front hub, Sturmey alloy shell 3 speed, Weinmann rims (32/40), Brookes B17 (the original '52 one) and a Reynolds dome top seatpost.
In addition, the Hobbs I have for sale has the super rare - and mint - brass and glass enamel headbadge. Super rare you ask? Look at reader's bikes on Classic Lightweights none of the Hobbs featured has this badge. My '52 has one and I have a mint spare too.
To have a headbadge made (or restored) like this today would cost a few quid! Off to a jumble Sunday, selling quite a few GB brakes, stems, and some rare handlebars (not a trader, just an enthusiast having a thin out).
I like the thread, and I knew Paul at Harry Perry in the 80s!
Jon.

What size are the Hobbs and Holdsworth's?
CheersHiya,
the Hobbs is slightly smaller than the Allin (Hobbs bought for my Wife) at 21.5", the Holdsworths (1 x 1977/78 Mistral, 1 x 1980 that V-CC Marque Enthusiast* thinks its a one-off Pro: I'm not convinced so it's not priced as a Pro) both are 22.5" (square), and really nicely built 531 throughout frames.
*copy letter available.
Thanks.

PM please if more info required. Asking £115 (exc post) for this rarity; I also have a Hobbs of Barbican & two Holdsworth frames - pm if interested in these.

Very nice type bump.
Is it one of the 'Raleigh Lightweight Unit' built bikes with the W frame number?Yes it will be, I bought one of these new in 1984 and still have it in mint condition. The rims (on the saale bike) aren't original, they would have been Weinmanns with a dull silver anodised finish.
The 501 tubeset makes for a very good frame.
See my Shimano 600 equipped Corsa below.

Decided to reduce these as many views but no buyers - sell some of my collection of NEW genuine official Tour de France t-shirts, these are pre-internet, so you had to be in France to buy 'em.
Three stunning shirts, the year 2001 shirt has a simple logo on the front but a stunning image on the back.
The year 2000 shirts are equally nice; one depicts the various jerseys, the other an image of a bicycle with front wheel depcting France's border.
These are unworn (still in original packaging), £20 each (approx 23" pit 2 pit), two for £35, all three £50 - post free to a UK mainland address.
Unique shirts, thanks for looking, Roadking.

Bought as a souvenir from my LBS Geoffrey Butler Cycles in the 1980s, tried on then stored - this made in Milano (Cinelli label in neck) Cinelli shirt is approx 22" across the armpits.
The image shows a good shape I think - ask if different required.
£40 posted to a UK address.
PM me if you would like this shirt.

maybe lay it flat and take a better shot so we can see if its got the shape of a tshirt or a sack of potatoes . measure armpit to armpit and post the results . £40 is too much but £25 you might get some interest though if you post your cinelli shirt you might get £40
Definitely NOT a sack of potatoes - never worn, I'll take another pic with a measurement.
Cinelli pic to come.
Thanks for the feedback.

Seller not strictly honest about this one and a bit of a time waster to say the least. Suggest that any potential purchasers PM me for further details.
RustyMudguard is a little confused about the meaning of honesty, I am irritated by his"timewaster"comment and his general attitude.
The sale is genuine and so is this rare frame, I am quite well-known in classic bicycle circles and genuinely thought this frame would be of interest to forum members - I misled myself and I've now *withdrawn* the frameset from sale on this forum.
Make of that what you will.

Thanks for that 57Hawkes, I've added, what I think is an interesting post to the Hobbs thread.
Best, Jon.
