LFGSS and Microcosm shutting down 16th March 2025 (the day before the Online Safety Act is enforced)
A final group flounce.
There's still some hope in me that something survives, including all the important things mentioned about community, there's also a massive knowledge base of mechanical knowhow and how-to.
Thank you all (but mainly @Velocio ) for a life altering and mostly enriching place. We really need to get this book sorted, and I guess some kind of closing down party before we lose the ability to communicate. -

You're wrong on this. As soon as you get behind the wheel you need to be aware of what's around you the whole time until you're properly not driving. Temporarily stationary is still pretty fucking close to being able to squish some poor cunt because you suddenly look up and realise you shouldn't be stationary and haven't been paying attention to what's around you for the last 30 seconds. Even if that's a bit too hypothetical for you, all the cunts checking their phones when temporarily stationary are the same cunts who are thinking about and checking their phones when moving slowly, or on an open, straight road or killing pedestrians and cyclists, just easier to clock and shop when they're still.

I overheard a bit of one of these recently, he wasn't talking much but the guy who was seemed a bit off to me. It had enough legitimacy in my eyes to due to the other guy being vaguely recognisable from the telly that my bullshit meter was just tingling rather than setting off as usual. Probably enough to fool someone less cynical than me.

Lovely bit of festive necrophilia.
