Birmingham Museum's excellent exhibit depicting what black people are:
Its hard to make out, but the manequinn was well fat, wearing a really bad tracksuit with the bottoms pulled up really high. A silly string vest & medallions etc
Birmingham Alabama surely!!! Is this now? As in current? In the present?

First time I've seen this thread. I had a 'car as weapon' thing last night. Was travelling along Whitechapel High St towards town and looking to turn right at Sainsburys / Camb' Heath Road, so I did the usual insistent right filter from bus to main lane, then further still towards right side for imminent righty. Traffic at a standstill so I drift over to the first half foot of the Eastbound lane. There's bags of space and nothing in the oppo bus lanes or anything but a crazy in a knackered Toyota makes a conscious effort to swing in my direction (making a very aggressive point about my being on what she obviously thought was "her side of the road"). I slowed right up and had nowhere to go really so just ended up putting my hand up in a 'stop' sign to impress on her how shit scared I was. Ultimately she left me just over a bar's width between the cars on my left and death. I'd say she was doing about 30. She was spitting bile at me as she passed too - absolutely livid she was.
I had a bit of a think about it and I really had done nothing wrong. In fact a quick glance over my shoulder and there was all sorts doing the same thing a bit further back; bikes, motorbikes, even cars consider a cheeky slide up there at that point to stash themselves in the righty lane at the junction.
Judge Dreadd in a frickin 90s Toyota. 'I am the law!'.

I've been using a Schwalbe Marathon Plus on the rear of the Condor (28) and the Kinesis (25).
They are heavy and I don't really like the handling but they are bloody tough. MA3K suggested these for skidders ages ago. I've got a new one under my desk at the moment. I've not used them for a front tyre, I think they might be too squirmy (technical term).They must handle better than the plasticky Armadillos though don't they? (I think I know what you're going to say - 'try them out yourself')...

Mongoose.
Don't sell up yet old bean. I trundle about on Armadillos and frankly if you want to be bomb proof, these will do it. Scrunch them in your hand in the shop and you'll see they're made of some pretty rigid shit (which I have to admit doesn't fill me with confidence when I'm pushing through a corner in the wet). They're a bit of a sod to get on and off but I haven't punctured since I got them 1500 miles ago. If it's the exasperation you want to avoid I'd go for these.
That said - reading this thread, I'm going to try something which might run a little better so I'm tossing coins between some Maxxi Reuse, some Rubino's (not sure which) and maybe even some Schwalbe Marathon plus (does anyone think they look too tready to improve my ride?)...

Well done. She's lucky it wasn't my bike. She'd of returned to find her bike chopped in half
I have to admit I'm guilty of tethering someone in the past. To this day I can't see how I did it - I'm usually so much more conscious of this sort of thing. It was my number 2 lock (seat and one wheel to my frame) and somehow I tethered some other persons bike outside York Hall in B'nal Green. I returned to a remarkably polite note in my spokes giving me a ticking off. Didn't have a pen on me or I would have grovelled my balls off in response. What a dunce! Never done it again mark you.

It's a top blog and I'll be sure to keep an eye on it, but I have a general question responding to Wankers Number 14. Dawn went with the retaliatory approach, smacking the aggressors car and (albeit accidentally) breaking his arial. Now I have positively no love for guys like him and frankly it does sound like Karma, but once we raise a hand (unless in self defense) and damage property our argument is greatly diminished is it not? We've all palmed a window or shouted to alert some no-mark to our vulnerability from time to time, but...
So here's the question;
Fuck em - it's war?
or stay frosty people - we're representing out there?
I go with the latter, hearts and minds and all that.
