Hello,
I have a fixie on 46 X 15, it's tough going. On the flats I hardly notice it.
But up inclines and especially hills, it gets harder and harder to get a full
rotation of the crank.
I also ride a freewheel on 42 X 16, and I can climb anything locally as easily
as being on the flats. My question is... are fixies just tougher to cycle, no matter
what the gear ratio or is 42X 16 an easier ratio to begin with ?Many thanks in advance, any advice would be most welcome.

BLB are having a giggle.
Do you want anodised or painted?
This one might be bmx size:

Cheers... Yes already checked Odyssey. Would it make the brake feel spongy ?
Because I was also looking at the Sputnic... which is also a Bmx pull style lever. Is it OK to use these on a side pull brake ?

Now, not to disparage our gay cousins...
but bike 'road racing' as a sport, is as gay a sport, as any sport can get.Everything about it - is gay. As soon as you put on Lycra, the silly half a walnut hat, those poncy shiny shades - you're gay. Have you seen racing magazines, rouleur and the like... or rapha clothing etc... It's all highly refined gay porn.
You're probably gay aren't you... so do you agree, it's the epitome of all 'man loving man' recreational activities ?

I don't know if it's this one, but doesn't someone else make one similar and everyone who's ever owned one says it's shit?
Didn't Ed have one?
The only time I've ever seen them they've been really close to the stem. Also I've got to ask, when was the last time you thought "fuck, I wish I could use my left hand instead!? <- serious question btw
Because it gives you an option, you normally wouldn't have, when out and about on your beloved mechanical marvel.
Say you are hurtling along and decide that a mid journey beer is in order or desperately feel the urge to
rearrange your crutch, you could... if right handed or vice versa, still be able to execute an emergency stop. -
the latter
I suppose if you'd checked out the link I enclosed, you would have read:
The lever can be actuated with either hand, but not both. One side of the split lever pulls the cable like a conventional brake lever, the other lengthens the housing in the same fashion that a ‘cross lever functions. It fits a 25.4mm handlebar (with shims for 22.2) with a hinged clamp for easy removal.
But you already know that and you're just trying your hand at trolling.
As you're obviously not interested in answering my question. -

The Dia Compe Gran Compe Shot Lever. In the UK it's advertised as for a 26mm clamp. In the US and Japan it's 25.4 with shims for 2.2 ?
http://urbanvelo.org/dia-compe-shot-lever/
Are there two different models or is 25.4 and 26mm so similar that UK sellers plum for the larger more standard sizing to advertise ?
Many thanks in advance,

Hello,
Anyone have these or tried them... The Dia Compe Gran Compe handlebars ?
Dia-Compe Gran Compe Track Handlebars: Track style alloy handle with 26.0mm clamp. Available in three colours. 38 or 40 cm widths 38cm - 330g 40cm - 335gDoes anyone know if these bars are perfectly tubular symmetrically or do they slope from the centre ? I wanted to know what brakes clamps they might fit - 23.8,24 etc... or only 26mm.
Many thanks,

I've got a Plug with bullhorns for commuting, love it. The reason for the drops on this Fuji is speed. Want to bust a gut, and my hands feel good in the drops at speed. This is a track bike after all. Just want to travel about a bit, rather than going around in circles.
I definitely will need to ride on the hoods, vary it up a bit. -
-
Cheers, I feel the same... there is something not quite right about the anatomical drops.
Tried both bars and they both ride OK. Nothing too bad about the anatomicals,
except that Fuji have a very heavy corked and padded style tape.
But aesthetically, they curse my eyes every time I look at them.Just wanted to know if it was me or if others felt the same way.
Really not sure if to go long noodle or tight B123 ? -
Hello,
Just unboxed a 2010 Fuji track classic. Not so sure I like the look of the anatomical handlebars. Wanted a second opinion... so anatomical or Nitto noodle ?
The Nitto bars are just a spare I had lying around, would coat them in black...
just to be boringly monochromatic. I really like the drop of the Nitto B123.
But at fifty penguins, thats a lot of waddle. -
I don't know what that means or why you felt the need to write it.
I'm asking a simple question, to those who might have more experience.
Gave the two relevant sizes that I'm riding and wanted to ask...
Is riding a fixie tougher than a free wheel ?
