Hey, my girlfriend and I are debating moving to Friendly Street (bottom end) in Lewisham, and although the house is AMAZING, it's opposite the ship housing estate which looks dodgy as fuck.
We lived in Leeds for a long time so I'm used to living in rough areas but I think we've been spoilt by living in Forest Hill for a bit, and have forgotten what it's actually like in SE London.
Has anyone ever lived around there? I would really, really like the house (it has a sun room ffs!) but don't want to get mugged every night.
Cheers.

Ongoing shed clearout to fund new road build. If you have any of the following I'd be happy to trade
Shimano 600 braze on shifters, crankset, front mech.Old thread, all prices have been dropped.
Raleigh 50s step through frame, has slight bend (I think..) in seat tube which looks like it's from a collision but the original forks are fine. BROWN. £15
White **57cm Top Tube, 59cm Seat Tube **rattle can road frame.
Paint is pretty terrible condition as it's a home rattle can job, but would make a very beaten beater, or strip it. It's pretty light and nice to ride.
It used to be a Falcon, then was restored by the Edinburgh Bicycle people so was a naaaasty colour/had terrible decals, hence the respray.
£25Girl's smallish frame, pink and white.** CT 53cm ST 50cm** Has 'Focus Bicycles UK' on the badge but made by the luminairies at Honda in Indonesia, according to a sticker on the bottom £15
Bits and bobs.
Raleigh 48T 'Heron' cottered crankset with pedals. Lovely, lovely, but heavy, heavy, obviously. You can have the cottered axle as well. £5Front 26" wheel from the above 50s Raleigh. Wide, heavy, bit rusty. One of the tires has a little Inner tube hernia, which is nice. Rear has a 3 speed sturmey (temperamental). Someone can surely find a use for them. Novelty discus? £6 each, £10 the pair
Metallic blue Tektro brake levers** £3**
Unbranded 52T/42T crankset from Rattle can bike above. The chainrings DON'T come apart. £4
Sturmey 4 speed shifter, working as far as I know!** £3**
Collection in Forest Hill/Peckham or on the overground somewhere South East.
Thanks,

You need to escalate a case via the Resolution Centre, wait until it's agreed that you've not come to an amicable agreement, and then let eBay make a decision. It worked for me.
I tried that, a few times. It went on for ages but they kept siding with him. I ended up speaking to a customer support person on live chat but she was useless and kept 'offering' me the option to return for full refund minus postage.
I just kept hitting a brick wall.
I may have just been unlucky. -
I would LOVE to take this off you, I'll have to see how much money I've got left after pay day bills etc. even though I think my girlfriend might take my balls this time.
As I'm too lazy to look and 7 minutes from setting off for home from work, can someone please give me a ball park figure for a restore job? Champagne/Blue obvs.. -
How does anyone get eBay to side with you on postage? I bought a camera from the US that was sold as working but was OBVIOUSLY broken (had a common fault).
The postage was around £40 with customs charges and the seller offered a full refund if I returned it, minus the postage. The camera itself was only £25 so I didn't see the point.
The seller was totally in the wrong but after countless chats with ebay 'customer support' we just kept coming back to the "well, the ebay rules state that the seller only has to offer a return minus postage" which is, as far as I'm concerned, a bit fucking ridiculous.
It's in the past now, but for future reference, how did you get the prepaid slip from eBay? -

As I say, not sure they were ticketing people or were even PCSOs! They were standing either side of the road at the end of the one way street stopping cyclists though, note, not at the entrance, but the end of the one way section.
They were also a bit perturbed by me stopping and judging by the looks on their faces.
Can PCSOs not ticket? Google offers no help. -

I just nearly got stopped by a couple of PCSO's (I think, couldn't see properly so may have been Police) next to the Victoria on Bellenden Road. It's on the one way section that I think (?) used to be cycles only/one way.
I noticed them in the distance so stopped, a guy came past me and they pulled him. I have no idea if they gave him a ticket.
I'm sure they're gone now, but just a heads up in case you take that road to avoid Rye lane at 5pm (the horror), as they'll probably be back. -
