Building up a cool carbon Kinesis CX bike and hit a snag. Firstly the rivet holding one of the top tube cable guides came away, so i'll need to get that sorted, but secondly and more importanty i'm not quite sure on the cable routing here for the rear brake - it looks like the cable guide for the rear brake isn't shaped to be a cable stop (like the other two are for the front/rear mechs), so I am assuming the rear brake outer runs the whole length of the bike and should clip into place? The thing that im scratching m head about is it doesn't look like a cable retaining clip will fit here, or will it?!
The rear brake routing is on the left hand side of the second pic!

Using Origin's Stronghold dark espresso blend and 18-19gish with my Mazzer Major.
Espresso is fine tbh. The portafilter needs a good half pint of blank shots through it to get it heated properly though in my experience, which I definitely not used to. I'm used to wild machines that run nice and hot like a La Pavoni!
My machine wouldn't let me bypass the cleaning (backflush) cycle yesterday morning - is there a way to override this? I know you can override the descale but not sure about backflush.
Take your shower screen off and clean it, also remove the shitty plastic disc in the portafilter if using stock.

it's apt to check back in after a few days of being a Bambino Plus owner.
I am La Pavoni through and through and have dabbled in Barista Express machines over the last few months and I think they are great at what they do, robust and for the price point (second hand) then infinitely better than a Gaggia Classic when it comes to the outputs.
I have no need for a Barista Express as I have a Mazzer Major so needed a standalone machine - enter the Bambino Plus. I like the fairly instant heat up time - definite game changer. Also fairly energy efficient as a result. Takes a good couple of mugs of water to thoruoughly heat the portafiter up though. Shots are great and the auto milk steamer has surpassed my expectations of it being a gimmick. My other half is able to use it and she's never made coffee at home before.
It does feel flimsy, being plastic but the features it packs makes up for it. Having been inside a Bambino I can tell from experience that these need to be ran on soft water as if the thermojet blocks you're fucked without spending out about £80 for a new one and getting someone to fit it if you're not competent.
