found a spacer! Parts flooded in at the last minute, so got a build together but not 100% complete yet - when is it ever 'finished'?!
Got the cranks installed first:
Then ALOT of autosol got some old pedals back to life.. new cages and straps:
Also pretty happy with the clearances too.. Front forks are gappy - but looks OK for a road frame!

Progress! Went to see Mario Vaz today and got back a freshly painted BEAUTY! Crap photos for now - its dark and i'm sleepy
Paint job is overall very good - a couple of minor bits here and there are slightly off (i mean really small - hardly noticable) but by far 1000000x better than I ever could do, so not complaining. Reasonably priced too at £75.
Question: My forks are too long for my headset (see photo) do I:
a) buy spacers?
b) cut down my fork? -
slowly making progress, took the frame off to see Mario on Monday, and is now waiting for me to collect. I have removed the anodizing using caustic soda (thanks for the tip drøn!) and polished the cranks up.
Annoyingly though it's left this weird black pitting in the place where there were marks and scuffs which I'm struggling to get out. not noticeable from a normal distance, but if you look closely it isn't great..
