I can remember a guy riding a crit early '80's on an Alan frame and wondering why his cornering suddenly became sloppy. When he looked down he saw his downtube swinging about a bit, having come unstuck at that big headtube lug. Apparently the "screw and glue" method of attaching aluminium tubes wasn't totally reliable at the time. Of course they solved that later.
What's suspect about the forks? They look authentic and straight enough in the pic.

I have been using shimano M520 MTB pedals for commuting for a few years and whilst I would like to stick with MTB shoes I was wondering if I am missing out on anything by sticking with these low end pedals?
The XT M770’s seem to be quite a bit more expensive and I note that other manufactures also do more costly alternatives to my old M520’s, what do you get for the extra money?
I could send you my Time Atac XS's for Gbp 40 incl postage; you'd have to get some Time cleats then. PM me if you're interested.

Thank you for heling me look for a large bike. This is another bike that I did see, I think it is nice, but yep my height is 195.5 (in fact slightly larger more like 197cm) and my inseam is approx 94cm. Ideally my budget is up to £200 so about €235. However if there's something that is really nice and is the right size I could stretch past this by maybe another 50 quid. Thanks again
AWhat's your weight? 63/64 cms seat tube, 58/59 cms top tube, long seatpin, strong tubing, would be my guess.

Lovely camera, really is; unbreakable and fantastic IQ. But I've already got a D700...
