Completely get that, but I think there are plenty who will take the email at face value and add to the trainer-landfill issue without thinking.
For context these shoes are 6-month old Asics Evoride Speeds and still have plenty of bounce to them, minimal wear around the heel, and still in good nick generally

I'm running an affected crankset on my old road bike which has an Ultegra 10s groupset. This works fine with the 11s crankset which needs to be inspected/replaced. But from what I understand Shimano will replace with a 12s crankset if it fails inspection. Will this be compatible with the 10s I'm currently running - assume an 11s chain will work with both?

Whatever you end up doing I'd recommend making sure you have your pre-run poo especially if you're going to be running before most places open. I end up doing quite a lot my training pre-breakfast and my go-to is a pint of water/electrolytes and a banana before heading out, with some nutrition in hand in case energy levels drop

Are you looking to head into the East of Kent (Swanley/Knatts Valley way), or more South towards Star/Toys?
If the former then this is a nice loop. Essentially you're looking to head through Chislehurst/Petts Wood: https://www.strava.com/activities/7746365227
If more the latter then I'd do something like this: https://www.strava.com/activities/10322242135

Is there a cheaper way to "try out" new shoes without simply shelling out the cash and then selling on the secondary market (presumably at a reasonable loss) if they don't work after a long run or two? I have historically stuck to ASICS as I know the sizing and haven't yet found a pair I don't get on with. Conversely the first pair of Saucony's felt fine in the shop but then tore my feet to shreds losing me about £100 in the process

Flipping heck. Wouldn't fancy being the door staff trying to subdue Big Bill:

Well done :) Story to the building is here: https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2024/feb/06/attacked-by-an-ice-cream-scoop-the-story-of-londons-gouged-building-union-street
Co-incidentally I saw the previous Simpson's tag featured in the Grauniad's "photo of the day" feature
