I'm not sure I can offer to help with anything advertised on here so far, but I thought I'd give everyone a heads up as to who I am and hopefully something will come of it.
I am currently in my second year studying Broadcast Operations at Ravensbourne. I am trying to gain experience in all areas of TV production and would love to help with any projects anybody has at the moment. I am more interested in the operations side of things than production (with the aim of eventually becoming a camera operator) however I enjoy everything to do with TV production, am very enthusiastic and I would love to get involved with working in a professional environment.
I have experience with many broadcast cameras including Sony HDC1500 HXC100 DSR570
Panasonic HPX 371 HPX 500 HDX900.Also, being a student, I am fairly flexible on time so if you have anything that you think I could help you with please let me know.
Thanks, Jack.

I used to have a lock which was great for this situation. The Animal "Tea Leaf". Unfortunately after many years I lost it and discovered that they no longer made them. If anyone knows of another company that makes a lock similar (as I'm sure it was simply a common design with the animal branding) then that would be much appreciated, thanks.

This is a bike my Dad bought second hand about 20-25years ago (before I was born) but never really rode. I dragged it out of the shed the other day and have spent a bit of money buying new tubes tyres and headset, took off the bent mech and shifter and shortened the chain for single speed and also put on some pedals off my brothers mountainbike as one of the originals was snapped.
It's the only road bike I've ever ridden but its seems OK, I plan on using it for just general stuff going between Uni and my halls in Greenwich. Hopefully it wont be too "nickable" although I have bought 2 pretty good locks for it anyway.
Wondered if anyone knows what it is. There are more pics in the album on my profile. -

Please help.
I have an old frame that has been resprayed at least once. The sticker on the front suggests it to be a "1st Champion" however after searching LFGSS and on Google I have found nothing so it seems no such company exists. Anyway, hopefully you can reveal its true identity if it has any pedigree at all (I doubt it as some details look quite crudely made)
Some parts included (whether original or not I dont know) :
Weinmann brakes
Freccia D'oro Saddle
Shimano Altus Derailleur
"CB" Stem
Cranks have a small "R" in a red circle on them.Thanks.

Got a starter session next weekend at Calshot, your calling it the wall of death has filled me with confidence, thanks. Joking I cant wait, I've always ridden mountainbikes with flats and recently a bit of road so toeclips and fixed gear is going to be an experience. Cant wait though and will certainly be up at HH checking things out when I move to uni in London next month. How long does it take to ride there from Deptford/Greenwich area?

"Let me Google that for you" isnt big or clever. I came on this site knowing that I didnt know much about road bikes but hoping that people much more learned than me would be happy to help me.
Although sometimes this is the case, it seems more-often-than-not I end up getting patronised by the more established members of the community who gang up in their little social groups and look down on me. It kind of crushes my enthusiasm a bit. Also, if you looked at that Google search as I have already done in the past you would see that there is no info on 1st Champion bikes. Google is not the be all and end all for finding out stuff. I'd much rather talk to some people who know about these things, than use a search engine which bombardes me we largely useless information.
Rant over, sorry.

Some photos of my old road bike which I will convert to SS for Uni use. Any tips much appreciated thanks.
Do pinkbike photos embed? My attempts so far have just resulted in the small red x rather than the photo.
