I think it's a legal thing. I doubt if you'll get one if you actually buy from Evans "For Racing Only", but the product shot will have taken into account the possibility of sale as a road bicycle. Chain guard is required in BS6102, and possibly in the new bicycle regulations in other jurisdictions.
Brilliant - having no brakes on the road is fine...but no chain guard...that's bloody dangerous!

I don't think people are looking at it the wrong way. I think people understand the reasons for Good Friday moving to Manchester, and support the meetings continuation in any form.
However, people also identify the completely different feel to watching an outdoor track meeting, on a nice day, with space to wander round, large bunches and an informal atmosphere. The same reasons that have kept this meeting going for 100 years.
Agree 100%. I support the Manchester GF meeting in my head and understand why it's moving there, but my heart (and body!) will support any event on the day at HH. It's too important an occasion not to stage a 'party' event. Maybe along the lines of the Goodwood Revival - 40's fancy dress anyone?!

...as it's supposed to be an international invitation meeting the local HH bods who were kindly allowed to join in before will likely not feature.
I guess the local Manc bods will be kindly allowed to join in instead! It's important that the event retains an element of 'amateur vs pro' otherwise it will lose its USP and become just another indoor track event.
