cheap freewheel won't last you long
i binned dicta after a month (it felt shit from the beginning and fell into pieces when i was trying to put it in on different wheel)
i'm on a second shimano dx - each runned smoothly for 2-3 months, just ordered wi from ebay for 54quid - it's not a fortune
my advice - if it's your secondary bike buy any cheap - they're all crap, or shimano dx if you can find cheap on ebay
if you gonna be using it a lot it's worth spending extra on wi one (it's double the price of shimano but will probably outlast few of those) -

Buy a Lincolnshire Poacher! That is, if On One have any left. Perfectly good copy of a vintage Road/Path, which is what you mean by track/path, the ends are OK, fancy Fleur de Lys lugs... sorted.
That looks great, i must say. The price is great too. But a head stem? That kills the look.
Another thing is, I want the bike painted the way i like, with some chroming, that's why i'm hoping to find something nice that would be worth spending extra on a proper respray. -

They're not now being well put together, the lack of quality control on those bicycle mean certain part might be more suspectable to failure, especially the frame.
It's only a few that were put together properly to make them last a bit but it doesn't make them better quality.
*They're not now being well put together? Like they used to be? Like if putting together shitty components properly would make any difference?
I can't really believe that this thread is still coming up and some people are still considering buying a create/unipack.
Frame is not the worst thing on the bike. It's all the components that are shit.
I hope that two post on this page won't encourage anyone to buy create.
I had only the frame, seatpost and stem left from original set up after few months.
Everything else needed replacing.Tires made of paper - holes after few months.
Chainset made of cheese - bent after few months.
Freewheel and bottom bracket got completely fucked up.
Fucked up rims - lots of punctures.
Saddle - don't even think about using that.
Pedals - noisy with the shittiest ball bearings you can findI remember ones getting some tubes in my local cycle surgery when the guys in the shop said that they're getting lots of people with punctures on creates.
Now a bit of advice from someone who actually tried and rode create.
Stay away from it and get some used bike. -

"there's nothing they will do" ? I can't believe it
They must have details of other people who left frames recently and should be trying to contact them to sort it out
Unless, unless they completely fucked up your frame and replaced it with the one you collected hoping that you won't notice the difference?
How can you tell that it's well made? Ball bearings are the first thing that is wearing out in cheap freewheels.
I guess it's worth trying it for that price anyway. If you're lucky it'll be the same quality as the newest shimano for the fraction of the price.
