The mislabeled wheel response makes no sense, people put Easton Stickers on one of those rims to "replicate" what exactly? A mislabeled wheel? So you would look at a wheel without any knowledge and point out "oh that's a mislabeled wheel?"
My response to this thread was the sarcastic, stupid response from Bikeradar Moderators who were forcing me to write "Chinese Carbon Wheels" when they don't know the origin of manufacture. And then I get chucked off because I dish some sarcasm back to them. I was also selling Mavic Ksyrium which I then titled "French Aluminium Wheels". I get chucked off for that???
I have nothing to complain about it here because I'm told straight by Velocio and that's the end of the matter. No sarcasm, no accusations of deception, just straight forward direct to the point message which I appreciate.
I don't get where people are thinking a replica is the "exact same thing", you all see to be thinking along the lines of molecular structure.
Replica it's derived from paintings and small scale models.
With all this "exact" standard you're going by, that means every replica has to use the same paint, same materials, same moulds, same paintbrushes, same designers, same people, same everything who designed the real thing then to achieve a replica????????????????
I totally agree with Dazaa, the tediousness of this is beyond belief.
Anyway, I'm off to le Louvre to order my Mona Lisa replica - I need to make sure they get Leonardo Da Vinci back from the dead, make sure he uses the exact same paint and brushes and make sure he paints it on the exact same material and the exact same dimensions to make sure it an:
EXACT COPY!
:-)

As I said before, It has nothing to do with the performance or functionality with regard to it being a replica.
You can have a Bontrager rim with Easton Decals
You can have a Zipp rim with Easton Decals
You can have a carbon rim with Easton DecalsThey will all be Easton Replica because they all look the same.
Or are you the only one who's going to say "oh, none of them are a replica..... exact copy...... because the functionality and performance is different."
-
Much like the Easton sticker on a generic carbon rims and Novatech hubs.
So you're telling me that if I sold the rims on their own with the decals and sold them as genuine then you would have pointed to me that were not genuine as well I take it?
If I gave you a 50mm carbon rim unbranded which was made by a major manufacturer such as Zipp, Hed, Bontrager, Mavic - you're going to tell me which one it is exactly are you?

Plain english:
Definition, Replica;
"an exact copy or model of something, especially one on a smaller scale"Definition, Copy;
"a thing made to be similar or identical to another"Definition, Deception;
"the action of deceiving someone"Definition, Deceive;
"deliberately cause (someone) to believe something that is not true, especially for personal gain"Definition, Fake;
"not genuine; imitation or counterfeit"Definition, Counterfeit;
"made in exact imitation of something valuable with the intention to deceive or defraud"A fake is a counterfeit item made with the intention to deceive or defraud.
So informing someone that the item is a copy is deception? Is that deliberately causing someone to believe something that is not true?
So how I can be accused of deception, I have no idea
-
It's not the point.
It states replica which means it's not fake, it's not counterfeit and there's no attempt to con anyone.
What do people think they're buying when they a Ford Focus RS, BMW M3, Audi RS4, Mercedes AMG Replica exactly?
The point is more about their reaction of "forcing" me to put Chinese Carbon Wheels when they have no idea where they were made. And you can't dish out sarcasm to fellow members when you're not prepared to take some back.
Make up your own minds, as far as I'm concerned the mods on bikeradar are full of ssshh it.

They are posted here.
All sounds like a storm in a teacup.
It's an understatement howard.
Anyway it's my experience with bikeradar, if you disagree then fine.
People understand the word replica. The posting is clear as day. The mods there are just up their own arses.
-
LOL quite funny.
I do know that but it's state in it's own right. If you buy a bike from there what stamp does it have? Made in China or Made in Taiwan? It's the latter.
It's not the point or issue, the mods on bikeradar were forcing me to put that despite them not knowing the origin of manufacture.
Also the sarcastic thing I done afterwards was relist the posting and as I was also selling Mavic and genuine Eastons, I put instead:
French Aluminium Wheels
American Aluminium WheelsObviously Velonutter didn't see the funny side...
-
There's nothing wrong with that.
If they want to force me to write "Generic Chinese Wheels" when they aren't the origin of manufacture then that's unreasonable and that's the sarcastic comments I received from the beginning from the mods.
And then I eventually get kicked off and banned and apparently I'm not reasonable?
-
They are asian wheels with Easton Stickers, but it's pretty god damn obvious when I write the word REPLICA in the title. And also they are priced accordingly.
If I had put a price that of genuine wheels say £800 and stated that they are genuine then fine, I'm in the wrong. But I said replica and they are priced accordingly.
I agree nickyburnell, it's like the Mod's on there are in a class of their own.
I mean Velonutter was warning me to cut out the sarcasm, what a pr1ck?
It's like anything really, any bad press and people get a gagging order.

Just had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with VeloNutter
I advertised a set of carbon wheels with Easton decals on bikeradar and received sarcastic messages from "traffic wardens" "SloppySchleckonds and "amaferanga" saying shouldn't it be "generic carbon wheels with Easton Decals", Fake, counterfeit good are prohibited blah blah blah.
Then the listing gets taken down by Velonutter who said:
Sorry but you need to read the rules, it is against them to list items that are obvious fakes, your advert will be deleted, if you wish to relist the please do so without the stickers on and clearly advertised as Chinese Carbon wheels. Thank-you
Remove the stickers then it's fine, what planet is he on?
I then relisted the posting whereby I thanked the original "traffic wardens" and then said that I was told to put that they were "Chinese Carbon wheels" despite the fact they don't know the origin of manufacture. They're just complete guessing or assuming!!!!!!!!!
Then I got this nice message from VeloNutter:
Final warning cut out the sarcasm and knocking other members, if you don't like the rules then don't advertise on here. And any more insults to fellow members will result in your receiving a ban!
I receive a ban threat for calling mod type members "traffic wardens" LOL!
I then responded:
Look, you just told me what to put in my own wheels.
You don't know the origin of the wheels, so why are you telling me to put "Chinese Carbon Wheels"?
I did not write any members names in the posting.
Also I told the truth of what has happened.
So tell me what is exactly wrong or illegal?To which VeloNutter replied:
I said it all in my Warning, these wheels are advertised all the time on fleabay from China, I know because I bought a set un badged.
And you did mention members as we'll.
Read the rules or you will be banned , we don't need argumentative members on here!My response:
To clarify, I didn't mention members, there was numerical figures in the words which in legal terms means I didn't mention any members.
Also you can't instruct me to state they are "Chinese Carbon Wheels" when they are not.
They were made in Taiwan.No reply back, what a wally!
That's not argumentative, that's fact.
So "forcing" me to lie is unacceptable. -
