There's normally a decent turnover of instruments here, across the full range of levels/costs. https://www.musicalchairs.info/cello/sales

Couple of options if still relevant: I hired one from JP Guivier for a few months to see if the practice habit was going to stick. Which was a helpful introduction.
It did, so I then bought one from https://lovasziviolins.com/ who is based in East Dulwich, is the nicest guy, and periodically comes up with more budget friendly ones.

Bought a good few years ago now, used once for a trip to the Canaries. Very serviceable, but is now surplus to requirements as I have a hard case that I tend to use now. I didn't even get round to writing my address on the tag.
What is great about this bag is that you don't need to remove the bars or seatpost to pack the bike as most bags/boxes require (worked even with my relatively high front end and 44cm bars. BB to saddle top is 81cm for me). So if you're paranoid about accidentally changing your fit, this works.
It works essentially by removing wheels, fixing the bike by front and rear qr onto the adjustable frame base, and sliding wheels into the heavily padded, zippable side pockets (accessible from inside the bag).
This is the older version of this bag and is QR ONLY. I've had a look and the frame base to which you attach it is not adaptable. But if your bike holidays are taking your trusty, classic rim brake bike to sunny climes, then this can work for you.
Included are:
- TSA padlock (I'll change the code to 0000 as it's currently set to my PIN number)
- Frame / bar padding
- Short and long heavy duty straps for dragging it around town / the airport.
- Bag for your bits
- Saddle protector
- Spare skewers
- Rear derailleur protector
- Bag to carry your bag
I think that's everything, shout if any questions.
Advertised price on the current version is £425. My recollection is that Scicon did frequent flash sales with big discounts. I think I bought this for around £250.
I'd like £150, collected from Herne Hill. I can deliver a reasonable distance by cargo bike if collection is impractical for you.
- TSA padlock (I'll change the code to 0000 as it's currently set to my PIN number)

I think he's just parroting the team line that weight was only one part of the equation, and reiterating confidence etc etc
