The queue at RT East was shocking. I got there at 7.15-7.30ish and there must have been 200 people in front of me.
I got the Franz Ferdinand Covers EP with LCD Soundsystem cover, it's shit. The Interpol Remixes, which are pretty good, the Clark/Bibio and Flying Lotus Warp bits which are decent. The Floating Points 10" is superb, and the Deerhoof/Xiu Xiu 7" is alright too.
It's annoying that the queues are so big, and the sheer amount of hipsters/profiteers that are there too.

Word!
I took the bus down there in 2007 I think, and swore never again. It left Earls Court at 4.30pm, just in time for rush hour, 90 minutes later we passed within 6 minutes walk of my then home in Sheen. The toilet was out of order, the back seat was taken up by lairy, irritating Austalians and we stopped once, on the M4 to use the toilets. The sodding thing never went above 45mph, I remember eventually seeing Stonehenge and announcing to my friends that we were around 45minutes to an hour away. Two hours later we rolled into Glastonbury, around 1.30am.
My friends I went with returned to London by Coach, muddy and wet and said it was the worst experience of their lives. I had the foresight to beg a mate to squeeze me into the back of his Peugeot 106 with 2 other friends and a pile of muddy bags, and was infinitely more comfortable than I would have been on a bus full of dickheads.
Every time I go now, I drive. Leave at 5am, there by 9. No traffic FTW. Way home, leave around 4am, clear the bottlenecks, kip at the services on the Motorway for a bit, home for a bath a few hours after.
Except last year, slept through my alarm. Leave 9am, sit in traffic on the A303 for two hours. Friends all asleep. FML. -
Line-up now available on the site
http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/I don't think I'm going to go this year (the re-sale is Sunday) as I doubt anything will be able to top last year for me- beautiful weather, finding out I got a first on my degree, and general new-found sense of well-being, as well as some great bands.
I've also got a stag do the week after, so can't really afford it anyway. -

I drive my taxi with side lights because the headlamps are made of plastic and thay burn if they are left on for long periods this would involve frequent and expensive repairs
worst. excuse. ever. they're headlights. use them.
The black cab is a vehicle designed to cover around a million miles over it's life time, parts were designed to be cheap and easy to replace. so what if your headlights burn out? Do you drive round on bald tyres as they only last 30,000 miles and are expensive to replace too.

I have a set of forks from an Archie Wilkinson speedway bike that are close to zero or negative rake. I don't know if they'll have enough steerer to clear your frame though. Let me know if you're interested and I'll get the tape measure out.
I'm not 100% sure a 700 wheel will fit, but am happy to try for you. Let me know...

Black Cab SN03 SUX, some advice:
Don't scream "If you've got no fucking brakes you deserve to get fucking knocked off" at cyclists if you don't like being called a cunt in return.
Learn to recognise what a brake looks like on a bike. I have one.
Don't drive like an utter cock, accelerating as hard as you can and moving right out across the centre-line in the road because a bike has overtaken you.
Don't pay a couple of hundred quid for an easily memorable numberplate if you're going be an agressive wanker on the road. You're being reported.A bit of a result from the Police on this one, I received an email this morning from the PCO Team - Cab enforcement unit:
*You recently made a complaint about a Hackney carriage index SN03 SUX following an incident on 14/03/11 at Cambridge Circus turning onto Shaftesbury Avenue (Westbound).
This complaint was forwarded to me by the traffic department that administers the site concerned as it involves a cab. I work alongside the taxi licensing authority, the London Taxi Private Hire Directorate - LTPHD (previously known as the Public Carriage Office - PCO).
I intend to deal with this matter by making the LTPHD aware of the incident via my Inspector. I will request they mark the driver file with a record of the incident. My hope is that if the driver concerned is in the habit of behaving in the way you allege, a complaints history will build up & the driver can be interviewed by the licensing authority directly, with a view to suspending his hackney carriage license.
If dealing with the matter in the way isn’t the result you had hoped for, please feel free to contact me (e mail please - I am never at a desk!) sending me some good contact phone numbers. I will call you back as soon as possible.
*So it seems they're treating these incidents more seriously. In reality I couldn't have asked for a better result really, if this guy carries on his behaviour there's a good chance he'll lose his job.

Mine looked somewhat sorrier than that...
Still have a thing for 80s and 90s fast Fords, this was the closest I got, although it looked nice the engine was a dog. 1989 Escort XR3i with 1990 Spec RS Turbo body kit, bonnet and interior. Had some mild engine mods, but I guess they just accelerated it's demise rather than helping out.

South of Charing Cross, which is the notional centre of London. For an extra 2 points, tell me where Charing Cross the street is, and where the actual point from which the measurements are taken from is.*
No Wikipedia Cheating here, dead centre of London is a plaque on the floor of the traffic island with the statue of Charles I in it. My old man told me that years ago.

I've always found CycleSurgery to be unhelpful, and more importantly unfriendly. Rarely so much as an acknowledgement in both the Holborn and Spitalfields branches.
Evans Waterloo and Cut I've always found to be really efficient without being overly friendly, London Bridge seems to be a 'friendlier' store, but it may just be less busy. Spitalfields have always been helpful too.
Tokyo Fixed wins it for me, hands down every time though. Probably my favourite bike shop in London. -

Yep, that's a 3500cc V10 F1 engine, mid-mounted in a saloon car (Alfa Romeo 164) shell. Sadly didn't get past this stage. Was conceived as a support series to F1 but only this one car was built. -

I know this one, but i'll let someone else have it to spare you another one of my crap clues.
