Anyone know someone who'd be up for picking up this track frame off teenslain for me?
It's in brixton, and he's not up for posting.Alternatively, has anyone got a spare frame similar in the north west?

Ah well.
I know what you mean.
I packaged up a holdsworth frame I've got as someone from the forum was buying it and promised they'd be paying through papal for it that night, then they vanished off the face of the earth.
It's still sat boxed up in the cellar.
I'll ask around, and see if anyone fancies travelling over brixton way. Don't know if they will mind, but I'll ask.
Thanks. -
Wow, fast replys, and that frame teenslain is pretty much perfect frame for what I'm after building too.
Where are you?
Despite this being LONDON fixed gear and single speed forum, I'm one of The Manchester lot.
So I'm assuming you're somewhere down south?
If by any stroke of luck you're up this way I'll come and take a look. If not then I'll probably take it off your hands anyway so long as you can post it, or I can persuade one of my London based mates to collect it.The Chris Marshall's nice too though!
Decisions, decisions... -
New year, new build.
I bought some wheels off a forum member a couple of months back, and as they're not quite right for my recently built bike, I've decided its a good excuse to build another bike.So as the title suggests, I'm after a 58cm steel Reynolds 531/531c frame and forks.
I'll consider anything.
Don't mind if the paintwork is shabby, in fact I'd prefer it, as I'd want to have it reprinted anyway. so long as the frame is sound.
Sub £100 is the only major thing. -

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a wheel problem.
I've got an old pair of airlite hubbed wheels which I am planning on refurbing, but I've got a cassette stuck on the rear. Anyone know what type of tool I need to get this off? And has anyone got one I could borrow? ![](http://m.flickr.com/photos/tlaw22/5182064159/[http://m.flickr.com/photos/tlaw22/5182064159/][IMG]http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1279/5182064159_54e1153a31_m.jpg)

Total nobhead kid dressed in black, on a black bike, riding down the wrong side of the road, at night, with no lights on, no helmet, and playing with his phone as he rode towards me. I was in the car,and would've wiped him out if I hadn't jumped on the brakes, and he hadn't swerved back to the correct side of the road.
Awesome! -

How friking expensive is it to get car insurance these days!
Holy shit!
I just tried to get a quote on the exact same car i had 5 years ago.
5 years ago it cost me £300 to insure it with zero no claims.
Now out of all the quotes I've gotten, the best is £990!
And that's with 5 years of no claims!!!!!I wouldn't really bother getting another car as i use the bike all the time, but my no claims runs out in Nov, and then it evaporates into the insurance ether. Never to be seen again. So I could do with getting one just to keep the no claims, and for the occasional time i need to use one.

That looks like a pretty good job. Have you wet sanded or used a compound to cut back the clearcoat for a shiny shine? I've thought about a DIY respray in the past but wasn't sure if I could get a good finish, especially around the stays at the ST and BB.
Wet sanded.
BB etc were all fairly easy to get covered, and have come up really well. -
Did it myself.
Lots of rubbing either with a drill, and various wiry spinning attachments, or with wet or dry.
Tiny bits of body filler to cure scratches here and there, loads more rubbing with wet or dry,
4x coats of primer, more finer grade wet or dry, 3-4 coats of Rover Tara green spray paint, more even finer wet or dry and then 3-4 coats of clearcoat. Ta Da!Looks pretty nice close up http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o228/tlaw22/Bike%20stuff/_MG_8041.jpg

Hey here's my first attempt at a fixed gear bike.
It's a bit of a beater I suppose, as it's not the best frame in the world, but I'm fairly proud of it, now it's almost complete.Spec at the moment is as follows...
23" Raleigh originated frame,
Maillard hubs,
Cheapo Rigida 700c steel rims,
Stronglight 48T chainring + crank,
16T sprocket,
Unica plastic saddle,
Weinman caliper,
GB chopped and flopped bars,
GB Brake lever,
Fuji pedals,
3TT quill stem,Basically a budget build.
Just awaiting a 2 finger brake lever in the post, then I can finish wrapping the bar tape, add some toe clips, and straps and off I go, until I start updating all the components that is!http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o228/tlaw22/Bike%20stuff/_MG_8056.jpg
Planned mods are...
replacement frame
27" Airlight/mavic wheels, which I'm refurbishing at present.
Better dual pivot brake caliper. -
law, what frame sizes are you looking for?
I'd built a cheap and cheerful fixie, which I've now stripped of parts and hand painted by myself with rattle cans.
It actually looks surprisingly good as it is.

I'm now wishing I had used a nicer/ prettier 531 lightweight frame as a basis, rather than the more agricultural one I've used.
Ideally I'm after a 23" frame.
Which I would get stripped and powder coated professionally of course! -

I hate Pedestrians.
Especially the lemming ones who step off the curb without looking.
Perhaps pushing a pram?
Times like that I wish I was in a truck, not on the bike.
They'd soon shift out of the way then.
