Spookily similar to @honk ‘s new watch, I have just picked up a nice Seiko while in Japan.
Is there a knack to securing the excess strap, or is cutting it the only way?

My LBS has had my cranks since October. They insist that Madison (the Shimano UK dealer I guess) haven’t been given any replacements yet, or worse might not have even been produced.
Anyone else hearing this? I’m keen to get it sorted and I have some heavy entry level Shimano cranks on my bike currently. -

Hi all,
I hope @Alan_tbt doesn't mind me jumping in on his thread with similar questions?
My family (2 x adults, two boys aged 4 & 7) and I are going to Japan from 01/04 - 17/04 (maybe I can do some recon for you, Alan?), and so far we have bought flights and accommodation.
Our plan is Kyoto - Arashiyama - Hakone - Tokyo - Osaka.
My brother-in-law lives in Tokyo as a travel writer, and tells me that the JP rail pass recently went up by 70%, so it is no longer very economical. Friends of ours who went last year spent as much on the JP pass as they did on flights. Our plan is to buy train travel there - is this unwise?
Sounds like a sim is the way to go over pocket wi-fi - is this easily purchased in the airport?
I have also heard that contactless isn't so popular, and cash is still widely used.
The main reason for me finding this thread, is that I would love to watch and have a little flutter on some KEIRIN racing! The websites are well confusing. I have heard that there is a velodrome in Nara near Kyoto. Has anyone here watched keirin racing in Japan? If so, any advice?

Hi folks,
I had my Boardman Team cross bike pinched a few weeks back, and it was the perfect commuter.
I'm looking for something similar that has disc brakes, can take tyres in the 32+ range, space and mounts for mudguards and/or panniers, and an be either 1x or 2x up front.
I'm about 5'9" - 5'10", so a medium frame or something in the 54cm/56cm range.
My budget is £500 max but ideally in the £300 zone.
Let me know if you have anything suitable - cheers folks.

I've been riding the white velosambas for about a week.
Shiny finish on white shoes doesn't show much.
Stiffer than I anticipated and feel good on the bike.
Cleat is more recessed that the Giro Rumbles, so no click-clack for me when walking around.
Comfy in the toe, too loose in the heal. I have to tie them up quite tight which can be sore on the top of my foot where they tie when I'm wearing them for hours in the office.
All in though, I am happy, and lots of people have complimented them and been surprised they are bike shoes. -
Maaaaaate. Just WhatsApp'd you.
