The wheelset is shimano nexus, laced to rigida snyper. 17 across so will take 28's no problem.
I know this is at the cheap end of market dynamo wise but this is mean to be more a commuter build on a budget rather than something for full tilt audax etc.

its gonna be a triple, with 12-30 on the back and a rack.
Theres the 9 speed tiagra flat bar shifters, I already have the sti's for drops though.

So the mercian is too fancy for commuting duties, so I bought this Bob Jackson Audax from Ebay.
So far purchased, NOS 105 threaded headset from Paul Hewitt and I have a 9 speed 105 triple groupset.
Debating flat bars or drops, Wheelset and dynamo for lights to be ordered.
Looking an SR Laprade seatpost as well.

Well for the sake of a tenner, I'd rather go for the better performing, hopefuly less rust prone option. Not like we are talking fortunes in it here.

I didn't say that. What I said was I'd read a number of posts about tektros rusting and said that I'd seen this happen personally with cheaper alhongas.
The Shimano got better reviews both in terms of not rusting and also braking performance. Price wise there was about a tenner difference in it, so I chose shimano instead.

Seemed to be a recurring chat about the tektros rusting online, I've certainly seen the cheaper alhongas do it. The R650 ultegra rear was £24.99 and I just kept the front chorus brake. So not as if there was a massive amount in it, lots seemed to say the shimano was a better brake as well. Looks surprisingly ok fitted together as well. -

Yeah few of the forums seemed to say that the hardware on the tektros rusted pretty quick and that the shimano survived a bit better.

After mercian told me the frame was 39-47, rear clearly was about 54ish drop. Hunted about and the best performing brake with a 57mm drop seemed to be the r650 (supposedly ultegra). I heard load of reports of tektro rusting. Got a chrome rear on chain reaction for £24.99, the front chorus brake fits, so keeping that, took off the shimano marking etc so with the rack etc fitted shouldn't look to bad.

Its the same as this one, basically it has "chorus" above the ring with campagnolo on it, same as the C-record ones but without the shield on the side.
